Shake Shack Revives the Osaka City Shake
Shake Shack, the renowned burger restaurant from New York, has announced the return of its much-loved 'Osaka City Shake,' a collaboration with esteemed Chef Yusuke Takada from the two-Michelin-star restaurant La Cime. Starting from May 30th, 2025, this limited-time shake brings a slice of nostalgia and local flavor to fans in Osaka, celebrating the restaurant's seventh anniversary in the Kansai region.
The ‘Osaka City Shake’ is inspired by Shake Shack's commitment to supporting local businesses and incorporating regional ingredients into its menu offerings. This initiative is part of their 'City Shake' program, which features unique, location-specific products. Shake Shack aims to acknowledge the support from Osaka's community over the past seven years through this special promotion.
Chef Takada, known for his innovative culinary approaches, designed the ‘Osaka City Shake’ by drawing inspiration from his signature dish of mini desserts, or 'mignardises.' The shake combines an array of fruity flavors, featuring banana, mandarin, peach, pineapple, apple, and lemon juice, all blended into Shake Shack's creamy vanilla frozen custard. This unique concoction promises a refreshing and smooth tasting experience that stands out for both local patrons and visitors exploring Osaka’s culinary landscape.
Notably, the shake was first introduced as part of a popular chef collaboration menu in 2023 and received an overwhelming response. This special drink not only serves as a nostalgic reminder for locals but also offers international visitors a unique gastronomic experience of Osaka's local flavors.
