Adolfson & Peterson Construction Announces New CEO Appointment to Continue Legacy of Excellence

Adolfson & Peterson Construction's CEO Transition: A New Chapter in a Legacy of Excellence

Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP), a well-known family-owned construction management firm, has announced the transition of its CEO effective June 1, 2026. The current CEO, Jeff Hansen, who has headed the company since 2017, will retire, making way for the current COO, Brad Hendrickson, to take over the leadership role.

The announcement reflects a well-prepared succession plan that has been a focal point for the board of directors over the years. Brantley Barrow, Chair of the Board, stated, “Succession planning has been a priority for the Board for many years, and this transition reflects that disciplined, forward-looking approach.” This careful strategy has resulted in a solid organizational foundation, with a leadership team noted for its capability and vision.

Hansen's tenure was marked by significant organizational growth, increased market presence, and reinforcement of strong client relationships, qualities that have positioned AP for sustained success, he noted. “My goal has always been to ensure AP would be led by someone who understands our people, our clients, and our culture—and who is already helping shape our strategy,” Hansen remarked about Hendrickson’s leadership capabilities and understanding of the company culture.

With over three decades of experience in the construction industry, Hendrickson brings a wealth of knowledge in operational and strategic management to his new position. Prior to stepping into the role of CEO, he has been instrumental in driving the firm’s growth, including expanding into new geographies and achieving record revenues. Throughout his time at AP, Hendrickson has overseen advancements in safety protocols and quality measures, leading to improved profit margins and further reinforcing the company's commitment to excellence.

In an official statement, Hendrickson expressed his enthusiasm for his forthcoming role, saying, “I'm honored to step into this role and grateful for the trust placed in me by the Board and by Jeff. AP’s success is built on the strength of our relationships.” This sentiment reflects the company’s reliance on teamwork and collaboration, foundational to its continued success as they move forward.

AP is also closing a successful fiscal year, with total revenues projected to surpass $1.5 billion, maintaining an impressive backlog secured for the next fiscal year. The company’s workforce expanded by 25% during the year while emphasizing jobsite safety and high performance standards. These achievements signal robust momentum as AP celebrates its 80th anniversary.

“This is an exciting time at AP,” added Barrow. “We’re grateful for Jeff's contributions and confident in the future under Brad's leadership.” This transition seems to set a promising path for AP’s next chapter, capitalizing on its long-standing principles and commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
