In a memorable event held in Columbus, Ohio, Nationwide Insurance recently honored six dedicated employees who each have contributed over 50 years of service to the company. This celebration not only highlights the impressive tenure of these individuals but also underscores the significant roles they have played in shaping the company’s culture and success.
The remarkable event featured a nostalgic trip back to the 1970s, recreating an office environment from that era. Nationwide transformed a video production studio into a retro workspace, complete with vintage cubicles and analog desks that transported the honorees back to their early days at the company. The setting evoked a sense of nostalgia that allowed the employees to reminisce about their beginnings and to reflect on the expansive changes that have taken place over the decades.
During the event, CEO Kirt Walker expressed the deep respect and gratitude the company has for these long-serving employees. “As we approach Nationwide’s centennial celebration in 2026, the legacy of these individuals becomes even more significant,” said Walker. “They have been pivotal in our journey, influencing and shaping our mission, and their impact will resonate for generations to come.”
The celebration was more than just a ceremony; it was an opportunity for laughter, storytelling, and bonding among colleagues who have shared the path of growth and challenges at Nationwide. Guests toured through archival materials and watched vintage commercials, all while enjoying the joyous atmosphere filled with collective memories.
These honored employees come from diverse roles within the company, showcasing a breadth of expertise in areas ranging from insurance to technology and operations. Among those celebrated was Julie Revie, the longest-tenured Nationwide employee, with an impressive 56 years of service in the Property Casualty division. Other honorees included Teresa McGraw, recognized for her critical role in the investment department, Sonja Hutcherson and Patricia “Pat” Darst, who have made their marks in engineering and service leadership respectively, and Paula “Yvette” Knott and Patricia Connors, who have not only excelled in their roles but have also served as mentors to many.
With a combined experience of 309 years, these associates symbolize the dedication and resilience that are hallmarks of Nationwide’s culture. “Fifty years at one company is more than just time served; it's a testament to purpose,
