AWE2026 Demonstrates a Defining Moment for the Next AI Era

AWE2026: A Defining Moment for AI Technology

On March 15, 2026, the Appliance & Electronics World Expo 2026 (AWE2026) concluded after four exciting days that brought together over 1,200 international companies and innovators aimed at showcasing AI-driven smart living solutions. Preliminary data revealed that attendance surged by more than 30% compared to the previous year, marking it as the largest consumer technology exhibition globally.

The main venue at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre spanned more than 140,000 square meters, welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors eager to experience immersive new technologies. The Shanghai Eastern Hub International Business Cooperation Zone facilitated smooth access for international attendees, providing pre-registration and visa-free entry, allowing them to visit the expo immediately upon arrival.

With the central theme "Smart AI, Smarter Future," AWE2026 highlighted how leading companies are leveraging AI to transform various facets of smart living. Notable exhibits included Haier and Dreame, both of which showcased colossal booths exceeding 10,000 square meters. Haier unveiled its improved AI Eye 2.0 and launched the Seeker line of L4 intelligent devices, which includes three types of household robots designed for cleaning, companionship, and home assistance. Meanwhile, Dreame presented a comprehensive ecosystem that integrates smart devices, smartphones, vehicles, aerospace exploration, energy management, and computational power, unveiling significant innovations such as a clothing-folding robot and the self-developed mobile processor 'Chixiao 01.'

In the smart home segment, companies including Haier, Huawei, Hisense, Siemens, and Panasonic demonstrated AI products with high levels of integration. This shift from passive devices to more interactive types of assistance was evident. Household robots were among the highlights, with organizations such as Haier, Hisense, TCL, Fotile, Roborock, MOVA, Ecovacs, and Dreame presenting a full range of solutions from companion robots and robotic kitchens to mobile and even flying cleaning devices, paving the way for new levels of hands-free living.

Embodied AI also took center stage, as companies like Unitree, Agibot, MagicLab, Tesla, DEEP Robotics, ULS Robotics, Tars, Zeroth, and Genisom AI showcased robots capable of executing complex tasks, from boxing and embroidery to unscrewing bottle caps. This demonstrated the rapid advancements in perception and motion control.

The "Smart Terminal" section featured next-generation solutions from brands like Huawei, Dreame, BOE, Aridge, BYD, Tesla, Vertaxi, NAVEE, Segway-Ninebot, and Sky Motor—which included electric vehicles, seaplanes, flying cars, and smart two-wheelers. Companies such as Qwen, XREAL, Lenovo, ZTE, Insta360, TCL RayNeo, Robam, Shokz, Rokid, and Orka Tech also introduced state-of-the-art AI-powered gadgets, ranging from smart glasses and smartphones to CPUs, earbuds, and action cameras.

Additionally, AWE2026 highlighted breakthroughs in chip technology and computational power from Intel, Lisuan Tech, MiniMax, Dreame, Ugreen, and Moore Threads, along with next-gen display technologies from Sony, Hisense, TCL, LG, Changhong, and Skyworth. Innovations in brain-computer interfaces presented by BrainCo and Stonehill underscored the advancements in human-machine collaboration.

As 2026 has been dubbed the "Year of Robotics," AWE2026 marked an immersive beginning showcasing AI that emphasizes an important truth: the future is already here. With nearly 10,000 intelligent products transitioning from exhibition halls to daily life and fostering smoother human-machine collaboration, AWE is not merely an event but the starting point of a sector-wide transformation, accelerating the dawn of a new era of coexistence between humans and machines.
