Inazawa City Launches Vital Community Projects with Furusato Choice

Inazawa City is embarking on a transformative journey to enhance its community through three significant projects, unveiled in collaboration with Furusato Choice and executed through Government Crowdfunding (GCF®). The announcement, made by Mayor Jojiro Kato on October 2, 2023, aims to address critical issues related to animal welfare, cultural enrichment, and facility improvements, with a total fundraising target of ¥9.8 million.

Overview of Projects

1. Support for Stray Cat Spaying: With the aim of curbing the feral cat population, this initiative provides financial assistance for spaying surgeries. The goal is to alleviate issues faced by local residents and contribute to a healthier living environment. The initiative offers up to ¥10,000 for female cats and ¥6,000 for males, with an anticipated annual impact on 100 female and 50 male cats. Mayor Kato emphasized, “Following the successful initiation of our spaying program, community awareness has notably improved, yet we still face challenges with stray cat complaints. This crowdfunding effort is pivotal to our ongoing commitment to create a harmonious community where residents and strays can coexist peacefully.”

2. Acquisition of Taketoru Ogisu's Artwork: This project focuses on acquiring the painting **
