Loftie Launches Calm Café at Venice Biennale

During one of the world's most vibrant and demanding weeks in the art calendar, Loftie has introduced the Calm Café at Versatile—a public sanctuary aimed at providing a restorative space for guests. Collaborating with Versatile and produced by Lover LLC, the Calm Café will run from May 7 to 9, 2026, transforming a historic Venetian palace near the Rialto Bridge into a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of the Biennale.

As thousands of collectors, curators, artists, and journalists flock to Venice, the Calm Café presents itself as a much-needed contrast—an oasis dedicated to tranquility and introspection amidst the fast-paced art scene. Entrance to this calming environment is free, allowing visitors to disconnect from the frenetic pace of exhibitions and events, and recharge in peace.

Hosted at Versatile’s new location on Calle Seconda de la Fava, the Calm Café invites guests to explore a series of intimate spaces, a terrace overlooking the canal, and a central lounge area. This lounge also serves as a press room during the Biennale's inaugural days, offering journalists a refreshing break between engagements.

Guests can meander through the Calm Café at their leisure, engaging in a variety of relaxing rituals designed to rebalance the senses. Activities include breathing exercises using sand timers, guided reflections, and sensory kits equipped with eye masks, earplugs, and tactile enhancers like lavender or stress-relief stones. Every ritual encourages guests to pause and be present in the moment.

The program also features optional morning yoga sessions, watercolor workshops, and sound baths—all designed to promote relaxation, creativity, and a balanced nervous system. The spaces remain available throughout the day for quiet work or moments of self-reflection.

As a parting gift, each visitor will receive a Loftie Focus Card to extend their experience beyond the event, encouraging a daily practice of mindfulness free from smartphone distractions.
