Northern Virginia Technology Council Honors Top Cybersecurity Innovators with 2026 Cyber50 Awards

NVTC Announces 2026 Cyber50 Honorees

On October 7, 2026, the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) revealed the list of honorees for the 2026 NVTC Cyber50 awards. This prestigious recognition highlights 50 remarkable companies and executives who have made significant strides in advancing cybersecurity in the National Capital Region. As one of the nation’s key hubs for technology, Northern Virginia boasts a high concentration of cybersecurity firms and federal agencies, making it an epicenter for innovation in this critical field.

Jennifer Taylor, the president and CEO of NVTC, emphasized the urgency of cybersecurity in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape. “As AI rapidly transforms both cyber threats and our ability to defend against them, we need innovative companies and exceptional leaders who can help us stay ahead,” said Taylor. This statement underlines the importance of not just recognizing the honorees but also understanding the vital role cybersecurity plays in national security and the protective technologies that shape our future.

The 2026 Cyber50 honorees exemplify the extraordinary depth of talent and innovation within the local cybersecurity ecosystem. The selection of these organizations and individuals is based on an independent judging process that ensures a high standard of excellence across three distinct categories: Cyber Companies/Government Contractors, Cyber Executives, and Rising Stars. Each honoree's contribution reflects the significant impact they have in safeguarding organizations and critical infrastructure as they face increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

The recognition extends beyond mere acknowledgment; it is part of NVTC's ongoing commitment to bolster the technology community in the region and enhance Northern Virginia's reputation as a global leader in cybersecurity innovation. The Cyber50 Awards ceremony is set to take place during the NVTC Cyber Summit on October 28, 2026, at Appian HQ located in Valo Park, McLean, Virginia. This year's summit aims to gather industry leaders and government officials from organizations such as Dominion Energy and Google Cloud.

In addition to high-profile discussions about AI risks, critical infrastructure, and emerging threats, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with senior leaders from crucial government bodies, including the U.S. Department of War and the U.S. Department of the Air Force. John Zangardi, the chair of the NVTC Cyber Summit, noted, “Cybersecurity is constantly evolving, and this year's Cyber50 honorees are helping our organizations and nation stay ahead of that change.”

The list of honorees features a diverse range of companies and individuals. In the Cyber50 Company or GovCon category, notable names include Andesite AI, ArmorText, and Easy Dynamics, among others. The Cyber50 Executive category recognizes leaders such as Hemant Baidwan of Knox Systems and Rob Brougham of EY. The Rising Stars include emerging talents like Anmol Agarwal from Nokia and Charles Britt from Fairfax County Public Schools, both of whom are recognized for their outstanding contributions in the cybersecurity domain.

As the Cyber50 Awards highlight the achievements within the cybersecurity sector, they also serve to inspire further advancements and innovation. NVTC remains dedicated to supporting the technology community, striving to empower collaboration and growth.
