CU Convenience Store to Start Ponta Points Service in Winter 2025 for Travelers from Japan

New Ponta Points Service Launched in CU Stores

In an exciting announcement for travelers, Loyalty Marketing Co., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, is set to launch a new service in Winter 2025 that will allow Ponta members visiting South Korea to collect and use Ponta points at CU, one of the country's leading convenience store chains.

This innovative partnership will enable travelers to easily earn Ponta points while shopping at CU. By simply presenting a specialized Ponta card via the Ponta app's overseas page, users can accumulate points without the need for additional member registrations or ID links. Specifically, customers will earn 1 Ponta point for every 2,000 Korean Won spent.

Once accumulated, these points can be redeemed at CU at a rate of 1 Ponta point for 10 Won. This provides flexibility for users, as the points can also be used with other affiliated businesses in Japan. To celebrate the launch of this new service, special campaigns are planned to offer great deals for users.

Moreover, there's more good news on the horizon. By 2026, a corresponding service will be introduced for visitors from South Korea to earn and use their Ponta points in Japan, thereby expanding the reach of the Ponta loyalty program.

Loyalty Marketing is committed to ensuring that the Ponta experience remains convenient, rewarding, and enjoyable, by continually providing accessible services that fit the everyday lives of consumers.

Service Overview
