ALPFA Unveils 2026 Scholarship Recipients: A Commitment to Future Leaders

ALPFA has announced its 2026 Student Scholarship Program recipients, showcasing a commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders. At the recent ALPFA Convention, the organization celebrated the hard work and dedication of 334 students, who collectively received a remarkable $1.4 million in scholarship funds. These efforts reflect ALPFA's ongoing mission to expand educational opportunities for diverse communities across North America.

The selection of scholarship recipients highlights the extraordinary talent, resilience, and ambition that will shape various fields, including business, healthcare, technology, and public service. The scholarship amounts range from $2,500 to $10,000, making a significant impact on the recipients' educational journeys and futures.

The Impact of the Scholarship Program

The ALPFA 2026 Student Scholarship Program does more than just provide financial support; it serves as a launchpad for students engaged in their academic pursuits. With awards given to students from 122 different institutions in 31 states, this year's recipients include 240 first-generation college students and 203 attendees from 52 Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs).

Damian Rivera, President and CEO of ALPFA, commented, "At ALPFA, we want every student to envision a future where their cultural identity and career aspirations align, allowing their heritage to empower their professional paths. These scholarships aid in creating such futures by reducing educational barriers and fostering networks that can change lives."

Commitment to Education and Opportunities

The scholarship program aims to break down financial constraints that may hinder access to higher education. Recipients are not only recognized for their academic prowess but also for their leadership qualities, community service, and unwavering commitment to uplifting their peers. Maria V. Fernandez, Student Programs Manager at ALPFA, emphasized, "Education acts as a catalyst for transformation, influencing not just the recipients but also the generations that follow. Our investment in these students represents a broader investment in community empowerment."

With over 1,400 applications received this year, ALPFA's scholarship recipients emerge as a diverse group of leaders eager to contribute their unique insights and experiences. They are pursuing degrees across various disciplines, showcasing the richness of multicultural talent within undergraduate, graduate, and community college settings.

Voices of the Recipients

The personal stories of the scholarship recipients reveal the profound impact of ALPFA's initiative. Daniela Correa from Hult International Business School remarked, "You have given me more than a scholarship—you have instilled in me the confidence to progress, knowing that I am not merely building a career for myself but also paving the way for those who follow."

Another recipient, Lorelys Alvarez from Lehman College CUNY, acknowledged, "This recognition serves as a reminder that hard work, perseverance, and community involvement matter. Through ALPFA, I've acquired valuable skills, formed meaningful relationships, and gained access to transformative opportunities. This scholarship inspires me to strive for excellence and create opportunities for others with shared aspirations."

Building a Brighter Future

The 2026 Student Scholarship Program became a reality through generous partner contributions, symbolizing a commitment to nurturing scholars in their ambitions. This financial backing goes beyond mere monetary assistance; it empowers the scholars to fulfill their potential and impacts their communities positively. Eight of the recipients also received fellowships, further expanding their professional development and mentorship experiences.

Moreover, scholarships represent just one of the many avenues through which ALPFA invests in future leaders. With over 270 student chapters and more than 50 professional chapters nationwide, ALPFA offers year-round access to invaluable career resources, mentorship opportunities, and development programs.

At the 2026 ALPFA Convention, over 5,800 attendees, including professionals, students, executives, and speakers congregated to foster connections and career-ready skills for students. This vibrant community emphasizes the importance of building networks and preparing students for significant roles in shaping the workforce of tomorrow.
