Support for the 'One Person, One Flower' Project
In an inspiring move to revitalize the community, the 'Japan Riders Forum' (JRF) has recently donated 200,000 yen to the 'One Person, One Flower in Noto Peninsula' project. This initiative aims to bring color and life back to the Noto Peninsula, particularly following the devastating earthquake that impacted the region.
On May 14th, 2023, there will be a special event at Ai Ai Park in Suzu City, featuring the beloved actor Takako Tokiwa, who will participate in planting flowers alongside volunteers and community members. This occasion not only symbolizes recovery and hope, but it also nurtures community bonds through the act of planting flowers.
About the 'One Person, One Flower' Project
The essence of the 'One Person, One Flower' initiative rests on the belief that if each individual takes part in growing flowers, they can collectively restore vibrancy and vitality to their surroundings. This project was birthed from the desire to heal the hearts of those affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake and to recreate the region's beautiful landscape. It extends invitations to residents, volunteers, and even tourists to join in creating flower beds as part of various events across the peninsula. The overarching goal is to foster connections among people through the shared experience of caring for flowers, ultimately lighting up the future of Noto.
About Nippon Ouen Touring
Founded in 2011 by JRF's representative, Shinji Kazama, the Nippon Ouen Touring initiative emerged as a response to the need for support in disaster-stricken areas. Motorcyclists from all over Japan have come together to ride through affected regions, providing assistance and solidarity to communities in need. With the unique mobility of motorcycles, the initiative has successfully addressed the local challenges that other forms of transportation cannot adequately reach.
This noble approach of transforming the joy of riding into societal benefit has evolved into events like the 'Ride for Tohoku! MFJ Tohoku Reconstruction Support Touring' held from 2015 to 2019, and since 2020 has been taken over by the JRF as the 'Nippon Ouen Touring'. The current season runs from April 26 to November 2, where participants can enjoy beautiful rides across Japan while contributing to societal causes.
