Pasqua Wines Celebrates a Century of Excellence and Growth in 2024

Pasqua Wines Celebrates a Century

Pasqua Wines, the esteemed Italian winery known for its renowned and award-winning selections, proudly looks forward while reflecting on its illustrious past as it marks 100 years in the wine industry. Founded in 1925, this Verona-based winery is not just commemorating its centennial but also celebrating impressive growth that highlights its innovative spirit and strategic efforts to expand globally.

In a recent press conference held at Milan's PAC, a contemporary art venue, the winery revealed its vision for the future, which includes a commitment to quality and a dedication to innovative wine projects. This comes during a crucial period of change and success for Pasqua, where growth is underscored by a significant increase in their U.S. market performance.

A Promising Business Performance

As per the company’s financial results, Pasqua Wines concluded 2024 with consolidated revenues of €63.5 million, reflecting a 6% increase from the previous year. More impressively, the winery observed a jump in its export share, which rose to 90.2% from 87.6%. This significant international presence now spans 71 global markets, enhancing the brand’s identity and influence.

In particular, the U.S. market has proved to be a game changer. Despite an overall downturn in the wine industry, Pasqua’s performance has surpassed average growth rates for Italian wines, achieving nearly 40% growth in this crucial market. This surge comes at a time when many beverage companies are facing decline due to shifting consumer preferences towards moderation and the rise of non-alcoholic options.

What sets Pasqua apart in the American market is its ability to engage with the identity of its products and the unique characteristics of its wine offerings, particularly among Millennials, who make up a substantial share of their consumer base. The winery's approach has been tailored state by state to cater to local tastes and preferences, ensuring its relevance and appeal.

President Alessandro Pasqua expresses pride in their performance, saying, “Celebrating our centennial with such impressive results in North America fills us with immense pride. We are dedicated to carving out a unique and distinctive position on the global stage.”

Innovation and Creativity in Winemaking

Pasqua Wines' transformation started in 2014 with a new leadership team and vision that aligned closely with contemporary market demands. Since then, considerable investments in vineyard management and winemaking technologies have been pivotal for the winery’s upward trajectory. These efforts have allowed Pasqua to introduce innovative projects aimed at creating fresh perspectives within the industry.

One of the highlights of their strategies is the creation of the “Icons” line, which showcases their most distinctive wines. As part of its centenary celebration, the winery continues to explore the fusion of art and wine, a move that not only reflects its heritage but also enhances its market presence through creative endeavors.

The upcoming book titled Ode to the Future, published by Rizzoli, represents another milestone in the winery’s artistic journey. This collaboration features contributions from various artists and discusses the intersection of wine and contemporary artistic expression, encapsulating Pasqua’s vision over the past century.

Art Collaborations and Cultural Commitment

Over the past eight years, Pasqua has forged ties with more than thirty artists, merging the worlds of wine and art. This artistic engagement is fundamental to their brand identity, providing a unique voice in a crowded market. The company plans to celebrate its 100th anniversary with an immersive art installation at Vinitaly, highlighting its journey and showcasing five iconic wines. The installation will be created by the Foll.ia collective and will feature advanced technology, creating a captivating experience for visitors.

Riccardo Pasqua, the CEO, emphasizes the connection between wine-making and artistic creativity. “Making wine is a beautiful challenge we embrace every day since 1925. It is our responsibility to embrace and celebrate this connection, using it as a foundation for our future projects.”

As Pasqua Wines steps into its second century, its approach to integrating creativity within winemaking and a keen focus on market trends promise exciting developments for the future. Their commitment to innovation, quality, and artistic expression solidifies their position as one of Italy’s premier wine producers on the global stage.
