Innovative Initiatives for Korean Startups Entering Japanese Market by HIS

HIS Supports Korean Startups in Japan

HIS, headquartered in Minato Ward, Tokyo, has embarked on a significant initiative to facilitate the entry of two Korean startups into the Japanese market. This venture is part of the "2025 KTSC Tokyo Tourism Open Innovation Program", organized by the Korea Tourism Organization. The overarching goal is to foster collaboration between Japanese tourism-related companies and Korean startups, ultimately creating innovative solutions to enhance tourism experience.

As a supporting company for this program, HIS will conduct pilot experiments in collaboration with selected Korean startups. These experiments aim to validate new technologies and solutions, promoting innovation within the tourism industry. Furthermore, by maximizing the synergies between the tourism sectors of Japan and South Korea, HIS aspires to deliver even more captivating experiences to its customers.

In this experiment, HIS will utilize its operational café, The Room of Journey IKEBUKURO, to launch collaborative menus and thematic decorations in partnership with the Korean café brand HWASUHEON. During this period, a Korean Fair will be held at the café, offering customers unique experiences and specialized menu options reflective of Korean culture.

Pilot Experiment 2: Collaborative Program for Viewing Japanese Market Opportunities

Target Startup: AlphaLab (Community for Restaurant Owners)

Duration: November 4, 2025 - November 7, 2025

This initiative includes a Japanese inspection program aimed at Korean restaurant owners, providing insights into the basics of entering the Japanese market, successful case studies, and methods to navigate market entry. This program will leverage HIS’s extensive network to facilitate the introduction of potential partner companies in Japan, thereby aiding Korean entrepreneurs in considering specific opportunities more concretely.

HIS offers a comprehensive support service for foreign restaurants wishing to enter the Japanese market, from preparation before entry to continuous follow-up thereafter. By leveraging the knowledge and expertise gained through years of assisting overseas restaurants with their market entry, these two pilot programs will also aim to assess the adaptability of Korean startups and the tangible business opportunities available in Japan.
