Experience Yao's Craftsmanship on the Kintetsu Train!
The upcoming event, "The 4th Kōba no Densha FactorISM in Kintetsu Electric Train," will be held on May 25, 2025, at the Kintetsu Osaka Uehommachi Station in Tennoji Ward, Osaka. This exciting exhibition aims to showcase the manufacturing prowess of Yao City and give participants a firsthand experience of the creative processes behind local products.
Organized by the city of Yao in collaboration with Kintetsu Corporation, this event transforms the interior of Kintetsu's trains and the surrounding platforms into a vibrant space where visitors, from children to adults, can engage in various workshops and exhibitions. Last year, the event attracted around 3,500 visitors over two days, indicating strong community interest and support.
This year, 14 local companies from Yao will participate, including Kinjo Gomu Co., Ltd., a leader in rubber component manufacturing with a noteworthy market share. At the event, Kinjo Gomu will offer unique activities, such as making bracelets from rubber scraps that are highly popular among children, alongside showcasing products from their original brand, "KINJO JAPAN," including silicone glasses.
The location of the event will be in the middle of the bustling Kintetsu Electric Train, functioning as a real-life classroom for exploring traditional manufacturing skills and contemporary innovations. Attendees will have the chance to view demonstrations and take part in hands-on activities, bringing the spirit of Yao's manufacturing community to life.
In addition to the hands-on activities, this event is especially significant as Yao City is the only municipality participating in the Osaka-Kansai Expo's "Healthcare Pavilion," scheduled for September 16-22, 2025. This pavilion will feature 13 local manufacturing companies, including Kinjo Gomu. In celebration of this partnership, a special display will be set up in an Expo-themed wrapped train that will include engaging interactive exhibits, providing additional opportunities for participants to immerse themselves in the world of manufacturing.
The aim of this event is not only to educate children about the attractions of manufacturing but also to emphasize the connections between these skills and the wider community. Families are encouraged to participate, making it a memorable experience for both parents and children alike.
