Detroit Pistons Partner with Local Businesses in February's SHOP313 Pop-Ups to Showcase Entrepreneurship

Detroit Pistons Highlight Seven Local Businesses in February's SHOP313 Pop-Up Shops

The Detroit Pistons, in collaboration with Comerica Bank, proudly present the February SHOP313 Pop-Up Shops at Little Caesars Arena, set for February 26, 2025, during the game against the Boston Celtics. This initiative aims to spotlight seven small businesses from the Metro Detroit area, offering them a unique platform to showcase their products and services to a wider audience.

This February's event marks the second POP-UP Shop featuring local entrepreneurs, following a successful inaugural engagement held in January. Regina DuBose, owner of The Alexis Company, a participating business, expressed her excitement about the opportunity, saying, "I thought it was wonderful. I enjoyed meeting new people and showcasing my products in such a vibrant environment. It was truly exhilarating."

Among the seven businesses showcased this February is G.L.A.M. Body Scrubs, the winner of the 2024 Comerica Hatch Detroit Contest facilitated by TechTown. Owner Tiffany Cartwright received a significant boost for her business with a $100,000 prize aimed at establishing a physical store in Detroit or its neighboring areas. G.L.A.M. specializes in eco-friendly skincare products that are free from preservatives and animal testing, making a commitment to sustainable practices and community upliftment.

Also featured is the Busted Bra Shop, a pioneer in the boutique lingerie market that began as a semi-finalist in the same contest in 2013. Founded by Lee Padgett, the shop has grown into three distinct locations serving communities in Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Chicago, focusing on inclusive fittings and a broad selection of women's undergarments.

In addition to these notable retailers, the SHOP313 event includes several service-oriented businesses. Hygiene On Wheels, a mobile dentistry service in Detroit, aims to provide accessible oral health care to underserved populations. This innovative approach addresses barriers to dental care, making it easier for families to receive necessary services.

Another participant, Beyond Existing Enterprises, LLC, offers consultancy services for philanthropic organizations. Based in Sterling Heights, the firm provides expert guidance to help nonprofits thrive, emphasizing administrative processes and sustainable organizational practices.

Other participants include Kravat Menswear, known for its stylish offerings in men's fashion, and Kream Sisters Event Planning, which provides comprehensive event planning and catering services to the community.

Each SHOP313 Pop-Up Shop allows small business owners to engage directly with the community, showcasing their offerings while benefiting from the extensive reach of the Pistons' fanbase. Six business owners will promote their brands at designated areas within the UWM District Market concourse, while the seventh will gain suite access for networking opportunities with potential clients.

As a part of ongoing efforts to uplift the local economy and foster small businesses, Comerica Bank and the Detroit Pistons remain committed to assisting local entrepreneurs in establishing their presence. The shop series is part of a more extensive strategy to enhance the small business ecosystem in Metro Detroit, which is vital for the region's economic growth.

Upcoming SHOP313 Pop-Up Shops are scheduled for March 11, against the Washington Wizards, and April 11, against the Milwaukee Bucks, providing continuous opportunities for local businesses to engage with the Pistons' audience.

The SHOP313 initiative exemplifies how sports organizations can integrate community support into their operations, creating a platform that benefits both the teams and the local economy through active engagement and visible endorsement of small businesses.
