BMW Group Partners with LUYUAN Group to Promote Sustainable Micromobility Solutions

In a significant move towards sustainable urban transportation, the BMW Group has officially licensed two of its innovative micromobility concepts to the LUYUAN Group. This partnership, solidified during a recent signing ceremony, aims to address the pressing issues of urban mobility through advanced solutions.

The licensed concepts include the 'Dynamic Cargo' and 'Clever Commute,' both designed to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of urban transport. The 'Dynamic Cargo' is an electric three-wheeled cargo bike, engineered for agility and functionality. It offers innovative transport solutions while maintaining the versatility typical of conventional bicycles, supported by an optional modular weather protection system. On the other hand, the 'Clever Commute' is a compact, foldable e-kickscooter, designed specifically for handling the challenges of the 'last mile' in transportation. This design allows for easy portability on public transport or in personal vehicles without sacrificing riding stability.

LUYUAN Group, a leader in China's electric two-wheeler industry, is set to leverage this licensed technology to create light mobility vehicles that cater to diverse urban scenarios. With a commitment to enhancing light mobility through technology, LUYUAN has already provided solutions to over 30 million users across more than 80 countries.

Dr. Jochen Karg, Head of Vehicle Concepts at the BMW Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating that the partnership represents a crucial initiative in tackling urban mobility challenges. He highlighted how the BMW Group has been working closely with urban areas to understand and address common obstacles such as CO2 emissions and traffic congestion. Their approach encourages micromobility solutions for the last mile, promoting interconnectedness among urban transportation systems.

CEO of LUYUAN Group, Ms. Hu Jihong, emphasized that this collaboration marks a pivotal step in their global strategy as they aim to build a comprehensive technology ecosystem. By combining their in-house expertise with that of world-class partners, LUYUAN intends to ensure that their products meet rigorous European standards. To achieve this, they have engaged with the BMW Group's innovation studio, Designworks, along with the renowned German engineering firm Faissner Petermeier Fahrzeugtechnik AG for product development.

This initiative exemplifies the synergy between intelligent manufacturing in China and advanced partner technologies, aiming to deliver high-quality, locally-tailored products to consumers worldwide. As urban areas continue to grapple with mobility challenges, partnerships like this demonstrate a forward-thinking approach to creating sustainable and efficient transportation solutions.

By enhancing urban micromobility, the collaboration not only addresses immediate transportation issues but also contributes to a longer-term vision of eco-friendly urban living. As cities adapt to changing needs, the introduction of innovative vehicles such as the 'Dynamic Cargo' and 'Clever Commute' could redefine how we think about personal and commercial transport in densely populated areas. With LUYUAN's ambitious plans to expand their light mobility vehicle offerings, the future of urban transportation appears promising, ushering in an era of sustainable and dynamic solutions that align with the needs of modern cities.
