The World's 50 Best Vineyards Reveals 2025 Rankings
On November 5, 2025, The World's 50 Best Vineyards released the highly anticipated list of vineyards ranked from No. 51 to No. 100. This announcement comes ahead of the prestigious award ceremony scheduled to take place in Margaret River, Western Australia, on November 19. The annual list celebrates outstanding wine tourism experiences drawn from votes cast by over 700 international wine experts, including sommeliers, travel writers, and industry professionals.
The 2025 rankings showcase vineyards from six continents and cover an impressive 38 wine regions. Notably, 18 entries are newcomers representing 17 diverse regions, ranging from the renowned Champagne in France to the historic Tokaj in Hungary. In total, 33 of the listed vineyards are located in Europe, six in South America, five in Oceania, four in Africa, and one each from Asia and North America.
Among the newcomers, Wairau River Wines from Marlborough, New Zealand, stands out as the highest debut at No. 52. This recognition emphasizes the growing prominence of New Zealand in global wine tourism. Notably, Europe saw a significant influx of new additions, with 11 vineyards making the list, including three from Italy. Interestingly, Portugal shines brightly with eight positions, dominating the rankings with six entries from the picturesque Douro Valley.
Spain adds three new wineries, most notably the Bodegas Arzuaga in Ribera del Duero, which secured the No. 64 spot. The United Kingdom also welcomes Leonardslee Family Vineyards from Sussex at No. 56, demonstrating the rich diversity of wine regions beyond traditional areas.
Hungary sees its first representation in the rankings with Tokaj-Hétszőlő Organic Vineyards at No. 58, marking a significant achievement for the country's viticultural landscape. Moreover, for the first time, Kakheti, Georgia, is featured with Château Buera at No. 72, highlighting the region's ancient winemaking heritage.
In South America, the Argentine vineyard Sitio La Estocada (No. 91) makes waves, while South Africa celebrates two new entries: La Motte Wine Estate (No. 94) and Hamilton Russell Vineyards (No. 99). New Zealand further solidifies its presence with three high-ranking newcomers: Wairau River Wines, followed by Greystone Winery at No. 89, and Felton Road at No. 98.
Lebanon's Château Kefraya makes its way into this year's list at No. 92, showcasing the country's unique contributions to the wine world. The United States is represented by Beringer Vineyards from Napa Valley at No. 88, reaffirming its status as a significant player in the global wine scene.
