Convenient Night Express Bus Service from Tokyo to Himeji Starting 2026

New Night Bus Service from Tokyo to Himeji

In an exciting announcement, Keio Bus Co., in collaboration with Shinki Bus Co., is set to introduce a night express bus service connecting Shinjuku and Shibuya to Kobe and Himeji starting July 16, 2026. This significant enhancement includes direct access to the Tokyo Yaezu Bus Terminal, simplifying travel for passengers heading to various destinations in Hyogo.

Key Changes to the Service

1. Direct Access to Tokyo Yaezu Bus Terminal

Currently, the Tokyo side of the route operates from two main locations: Shinjuku and Shibuya. However, with the upcoming launch, buses will now be able to access the newly established Tokyo Yaezu Bus Terminal directly connected to Tokyo Station. This change allows travelers from eastern Tokyo and Chiba to reach Kobe and Himeji seamlessly.

The Tokyo Yaezu Bus Terminal features two platforms: "Underground A" and "Underground B". Passengers using this route should note that their boarding and disembarking will occur exclusively at "Underground B", located on the second basement level of Tokyo Midtown Yaesu.

2. Faster Travel Times

Along with the new terminal access, there will also be significant schedule adjustments aimed at reducing travel times.
  • - Himeji Arrival: Buses traveling down to Himeji will arrive a staggering 50 minutes earlier, reaching Himeji Station at 7:35 AM.
  • - Tokyo Arrival: Buses from Shibuya and Shinjuku will arrive at the Tokyo Yaezu Bus Terminal at 7:15 AM, which is 40 minutes quicker than the current schedule.

These adjustments will extend travelers' stay at their destinations and improve overall convenience.

3. The End of Service to Flower Town Center

It is important to highlight that with this modification, access to the Flower Town Center stop in Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture, will be discontinued.

Schedule and Pricing

The changes will take effect for all departures starting on July 16, 2026. A detailed timetable and fare chart will be made available for travelers, along with information on how to reserve tickets.

Easy Online Booking

Travelers can benefit from convenient online reservations through "Highway Bus Dotcom".
  • - Lower Fares: Passengers can enjoy reduced fares with online payment.
  • - Early Bird Discounts: Online payments will also offer early bird discounts, with one-way tickets starting from ¥5,900 for adults.
  • - Seat Selection: The platform allows for seat reservations, ensuring a comfortable journey.
  • - Alternative Booking: Some seats can also be reserved via the Departure Now network.

4. Comfortable Vehicles

The night buses will feature roomy and comfortable 27-seat vehicles designed for passenger comfort. Each bus will be equipped with individual three-row seating, restrooms, power outlets, and complimentary Wi-Fi, making travel pleasant and convenient.

5. Reservation Start Date

Ticket reservations will begin on June 16, 2026, at 9:00 AM.

6. Contact Information

For inquiries, passengers can reach out to the Keio Bus Co.'s Operations and Sales Department directly at 042-352-3715, available on weekdays from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. For reservations, the Keio Highway Bus Reservation Center can be contacted at 03-5376-2222, which operates daily from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
