Aries Clean Technologies Strengthens Operations with New Bond Acquisition for Linden Facility Revival

Aries Clean Technologies Revitalizes Linden Facility Through Strategic Bond Acquisition

Aries Clean Technologies, headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee, has made significant strides towards revamping its Linden facility by having its primary investor acquire all outstanding Series 2019 and Series 2021 bonds. This strategic transaction not only stabilizes their finances but also enables the company to resume payments on subsequent bonds, ensuring the ongoing operations and enhancement of the Linden location.

CEO Jon Cozens expressed optimism about this development, stating, "This outcome reflects a shared commitment to doing what's right for the long-term success of our Linden facility." With this newfound financial foundation, Aries is positioned to implement substantial redevelopment efforts, leveraging insights gained during past operations to improve overall efficiency and reliability.

Originally recognized as the first commercial-scale biosolids gasification facility, Linden was designed to demonstrate Aries' innovative technology. The facility successfully validated the core gasification systems, achieving remarkable efficiency with a 97% PFAS destruction rate. However, after several years of intermittent operation, it was thoughtfully idle while the company focused on engineering upgrades and design improvements.

The learnings from Linden's earlier trials are being integrated into the redevelopment plans, which aim at establishing a next-generation design that emphasizes efficiency and reliability.

Nikhil Garg, Partner at Spring Lane Capital—Aries' lead investor—noted the critical importance of the Linden facility in addressing the growing need for sustainable biosolid management solutions. "Managing biosolids safely and renewably is quickly becoming a priority for policymakers across the country, and the Linden, NJ facility couldn't be in a better location in terms of volume and critical need," he commented. Garg's enthusiasm underscores the facility's potential to meet urgent environmental needs.

Beyond Linden, Aries Clean Technologies is using insights from this facility's redevelopment to inform future projects, including one based in Sanford, Maine. Cozens reiterated the company's dedication to delivering long-term solutions that positively impact surrounding communities.

Aries Clean Technologies is committed to sustainable infrastructure development, focusing on recycling biosolids and eliminating harmful contaminants such as Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The patented gasification technology developed by the company is designed to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, reduce reliance on landfills, and convert waste into valuable resources, culminating in significant environmental benefits.

As Aries Clean Technologies embarks on this new chapter in the redevelopment of the Linden facility, the company remains dedicated to its mission of providing cutting-edge environmental solutions. This pivotal moment marks a promising turnaround, poised to deliver both technological advancements and critical community benefits as operations prepare to restart shortly.

Through its comprehensive plans and commitment to innovation, Aries Clean Technologies exemplifies a forward-thinking approach to waste management and environmental stewardship.
