Mondamin Vending Machine: Enhancing Workplace Etiquette
Beginning September 11, 2025, JR East's Water Business Company will unveil a unique vending machine at Kanda Station, titled the Mondamin vending machine. This machine, part of a collaborative project with Earth Chemical Co., Ltd., aims to incorporate oral hygiene solutions into the daily routine of busy professionals.
Location and Purpose
The vending machine is strategically located near the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line transfer stairs at the North Exit (Mondamin Exit) of Kanda Station, an area frequented by numerous businesspeople every day. The initiative promises a significant boost in the ease of maintaining oral hygiene while out of the office, particularly after a stress-filled lunch or before an important meeting.
The Unique Offering
The Mondamin vending machine will offer three distinct mouthwash products:
1.
Mondamin Clear Mint (100mL): Featuring a specially formulated cleaning agent, this mouthwash effectively removes plaque and bad breath causes, delivering a refreshing clear mint flavor.
2.
Mondamin Spicy Mint (100mL): Just like its counterpart, this mouthwash targets similar oral issues but carries a strong and invigorating spicy mint taste.
3.
Mondamin Premium Care Gold Mint (100mL): Promising seven benefits, including prevention of bad breath and cavities, this mouthwash presents a delightful gold mint flavor.
These products represent the convenience of the Mondamin brand, which has been known for its catchy slogan, “Kuchikuchi, Mondamin,” making oral care easily accessible. As a part of the 'Event Acure' initiative, which introduces themed vending machine concepts, this launch not only promotes oral hygiene but also enhances the experience of commuting through Kanda Station.
A Comment from Project Manager

With unpredictable office dynamics, including ad-hoc meetings and tighter schedules, having instant access to mouthwash can bring an essential aspect of self-care to the workplace. The Evolution of Mondamin
Initially launched in 1987 when mouthwash was not common in Japan, Mondamin has significantly evolved while holding onto its core mission: to provide a mouthwash that people want to use daily. As the awareness for oral care has grown, especially with nationwide dental check initiatives encouraged by the government, there remains a gap in self-care practices among individuals. Despite many recognizing that brushing alone is insufficient for maintaining oral hygiene, a staggering 14 million people do not utilize mouthwashes or alternative oral hygiene products effectively.
With recent research indicating that 80% of adults between 20 to 60 have been advised by dentists on leftover debris after brushing, the implications for oral health have become increasingly apparent. To address this, Mondamin has embraced the phrase “Oral Age Care”, renewing its vision to empower consumers.
In August 2023, the brand underwent a comprehensive overhaul that included a new logo. This reflects a commitment to freshness and everyday usability, indicated by a sleek, sharp triangle shape. Furthermore, their focus on revitalizing the formula ensures that their products not only cleanse effectively but also cater to the preferences of Japanese consumers.
With user-friendly packaging and label design, the Mondamin line is ready to become a staple in both everyday life and business settings.
In conclusion, the Mondamin vending machine at Kanda Station represents a forward-thinking approach to workplace wellness and hygiene, providing an easily accessible solution for those on the go.
