Introducing IWA 5 at Wako Annex: A New Sake Experience Reveling in Tradition and Innovation

Discover the Essence of IWA 5 at Wako Annex

Wako Annex, a renowned destination for luxury and gourmet experiences, is thrilled to announce the debut of the Japanese sake "IWA 5" starting October 16. This exclusive offering reaffirms Wako's commitment to presenting high-quality products that reflect the artistry and tradition of Japanese craftsmanship.

IWA: The Journey of Craftsmanship

Founded in 2019 by the acclaimed Richard Geoffroy, who spent 28 years as the chief winemaker at the legendary Champagne house, Dom Pérignon, IWA represents a new frontier in the world of sake. Under Geoffroy's leadership, IWA has crafted a unique profile defined by innovative methods and a masterful blending technique that revolutionizes traditional sake brewing.

The Allure of IWA 5

IWA 5 embodies the spirit of exploration and creativity, showcasing variations that differ each year through its blending process. This year, the 2025 vintage promises to deliver an enchanting experience, with IWA 5 produced in the picturesque town of Tateyama, Toyama Prefecture. As of now, IWA sake is celebrated in 38 countries, including Japan, Europe, Asia, and the United States, bringing the allure of this fine beverage to a global audience.

Beginning October 16, in addition to selling IWA 5, Wako’s tea salon will introduce a special drink menu featuring two editions of IWA 5: the 2020 Assemblage (IWA 5 Assemblage 2) and the 2024 Assemblage (IWA 5 Assemblage 6). Guests will be delighted by the opportunity to compare these two exquisite variants, alongside a pairing set of artisanal chocolate confectioneries crafted by Wako’s own sous-chef chocolatier, Nana Iioka.
