Persistent Commitment to Improving Childcare Environments in Okayama Prefecture

Enhancing Childcare Environments Through ICT

Persol Works Switch Consulting Co., Ltd., part of the Persol Group, has proudly secured its third consecutive contract from Okayama Prefecture to support the improvement of childcare environments through ICT implementation and personalized consulting services. With the vision "Let's Work, Let's Smile," the company aims to leverage its extensive experience over the last two years to further enhance and develop the ICT landscape in childcare settings, ensuring that those involved in the care of children can contribute to their growth in a safe and supportive work environment.

The Need for Change

In recent years, the integration and application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in childcare facilities have gained traction. However, the challenges remain significant, as many childcare workers still shoulder heavy workloads, leading to a shortage of personnel in the industry. Furthermore, there is often a lack of understanding of the benefits of ICT and insufficient skills among staff. To address these multifaceted issues, tailored support is essential for each childcare facility, focusing on overcoming these challenges through effective ICT introduction and operational improvement.

Despite Okayama Prefecture boasting a high rate of ICT adoption in its childcare facilities, the effective utilization of ICT tools to lessen the work burden has become a pressing concern. Consequently, Persol Works Switch Consulting is committed to dispatching specialists who will assist in creating a work environment where childcare professionals can focus more on their jobs and spend meaningful time with children.

Support Provided

The primary goal of this initiative is to alleviate the workload in childcare facilities by offering targeted support based on the specific challenges each facility faces. Drawing on the experience gained over the past two years, the support is tailored in steps:

1. Follow-up Support
- Conducting preliminary briefings and surveys will lead to a thorough understanding of each facility's needs, allowing for precise selection of support targets.
- Objectives for each session will be established, reflecting the findings from these surveys, culminating in a comprehensive action plan.
- The program utilizes experienced consultants and professionals well-versed in both childcare and ICT, ensuring steadfast support tailored to achieve each facility's aims.

2. ICT Workshops
- By addressing operational challenges, workshops will facilitate participation from various childcare facilities, thus improving their capacity to absorb pertinent information.

3. Individual Consultation Services
- To cater to varying needs, an online individual consultation service has been set up to provide additional support beyond the on-site follow-up programs.

4. Project Reporting Sessions
- Sharing both the challenges and success stories from childcare facilities will help further promote the use of ICT in these settings.

Looking Ahead

The environment surrounding children continues to evolve alongside societal changes, necessitating regular updates to childcare practices. This initiative intends to consistently promote ICT adoption and improvement in childcare environments, furthering the goal of a society centered on children's needs. By leveraging the extensive expertise in public digital transformation (DX) and the holistic capacity of the Persol Group, the mission is to create an environment where childcare professionals feel empowered, and parents feel secure in their community connections.
