In a first-of-its-kind initiative, AlphaDrive is partnering with Osaka Prefecture to launch the ‘Challenge Osaka Co-Creation Program’ (ChO Co-CreP). This program is aimed at fostering collaboration between local businesses and public officials to develop innovative solutions addressing pressing social issues within the region. As social challenges continue to grow in complexity, traditional approaches from government alone are no longer sufficient to resolve community concerns. Therefore, the need for private sector engagement is clearer than ever.
Background of the Program
Given the rapid evolution of market demands, businesses face limits in their ability to create new ventures on their own. It is increasingly recognized that co-creation with other entities is not only beneficial but necessary for tackling emerging social challenges effectively. This program seeks to merge governmental insights with entrepreneurial spirit, facilitating an environment where innovative ideas can flourish.
Timeline and Structure
The Challenge Osaka Co-Creation Program will run from July 2025 to March 2026, encompassing multiple stages:
1. Recruitment of Participants:
August 18, 2025, will mark the information session for interested local businesses. AlphaDrive will also conduct seminars aimed at the development of new business strategies, with a particular emphasis on social problem-solving methods. Approximately ten local companies and twenty government officials are expected to participate, forming ten teams with two officials paired with each business entity.
2. Joint Workshops:
Scheduled for September 12, there will be a collaborative workshop where team members can meet and develop specific business plans. Here, participants will learn about effective business development methods and craft action plans tailored to their identified social issues.
3. Business Development Execution:
From October through February, teams will be actively engaged in developing businesses intended to address specific social issues identified at the start. Monthly mentorship sessions provided by AlphaDrive will support these development efforts.
4. Result Presentation:
In March 2026, participants will present their projects in Osaka, showcasing innovative solutions and their impact on the community.
