Wacom's Latest Update Enhances MovinkPad with ibisPaint X & Prime Subscription

Wacom has today unveiled a significant Android update for its MovinkPad series, enhancing the devices' creative capabilities. This update includes the integration of the highly popular app ibisPaint X, along with a complimentary 180-day subscription to ibisPaint Prime for all users, both new and existing.

With over 500 million downloads globally, ibisPaint X stands as one of the foremost digital art applications, facilitating smoother transitions for creators from sketching to editing. This latest update aims not only to elevate the user experience but also to strengthen the functionality between Wacom Canvas, Wacom Shelf, and ibisPaint X, establishing a cohesive ecosystem for digital artists.

The MovinkPad series, which comprises the Wacom MovinkPad 11 and the Wacom MovinkPad Pro 14, aims to provide an all-in-one, portable drawing platform. Released in mid-2025 and October 2025 respectively, these interactive displays leverage Wacom's proprietary stylus technology, coupled with an integrated Android environment, to deliver a comprehensive drawing experience that eliminates the need for a PC.

For users, this integration means that sketches made in Wacom Canvas can be directly accessed within ibisPaint X. Additionally, files originating from ibisPaint X can now be viewed in Wacom Shelf, with the introduction of support for the IPV format, which is native to ibisPaint X. Users can also manage their work with greater ease as Wacom Shelf gains compatibility with file formats such as JPG, HEIC, PNG, CLIP, BMP, WEBP, and TIFF.

"With the incorporation of ibisPaint X, the Wacom MovinkPad range is set to provide a diversification of creative experiences," stated Koji Yano, Senior Vice President of the Creative Experience Unit at Wacom. This integration not only connects Wacom's creative ecosystem to dynamic artistic communities globally but also intends to foster new opportunities and modes of creative expression.

In addition to the feature enhancements, the rolled-out update offers users access to the full range of Prime features through the 180-day subscription to ibisPaint Prime. This means ad-free usage, increased cloud storage of 20GB, exclusive vector tools, premium materials, distinct canvas papers, unique fonts, and advanced filters.

“Now that ibisPaint is available on the Wacom MovinkPad series, users are encouraged to unleash their creativity in an even more intuitive manner than before,” remarked Yuka Inoue, Section Manager at ibis inc. This partnership indicates a shared vision of empowering artists across various skill levels, from beginners dabbling in digital art to seasoned illustrators seeking a portable solution that complements their workflow.

Furthermore, Wacom's commitment to supporting digital artistry continues unabated, reinforcing their mission to offer tools that are accessible, efficient, and built with the artist in mind. The MovinkPad series exemplifies this vision, showcasing Wacom’s effort to enhance the creative journey.
