Supporting Business Growth: The Role of Data-Driven Management at Ohmatsu

As Japan strives towards a data-driven culture, mid-sized and small enterprises like Ohmatsu Corporation are committing to harnessing data effectively. Starting in October 2025, Ohmatsu will implement a unified cloud data solution from Srush, aimed at bolstering data-driven management practices.

Background of the Initiative

Founded in 1977 and headquartered in Suita, Osaka, Ohmatsu Corporation serves as an independent general trading company focused on housing equipment. They pride themselves on offering a broad range of products from kitchen and bathroom equipment to building materials. Positioned as a trusted partner for renovation shops and construction companies, Ohmatsu emphasizes a mission to provide comfortable living environments. Their strength lies in their ability to select products freely without manufacturer constraints, combined with a strong commitment to understanding the needs of the job site.

Recently, as their operations expanded, Ohmatsu faced a growing challenge: their core systems, accounting data, and various software tools had dispersed information across multiple channels. This fragmentation necessitated frequent requests to the IT department for data extraction, and each department began handling its own data compilation. Relying on manual processes using Excel and Access became commonplace, but as temporary solutions developed, issues of data redundancy and discrepancies became more evident, revealing a vital need for a robust data-driven decision-making platform to support high-accuracy management.

While Ohmatsu had explored various BI tools for limited analytical tasks, the high license costs and operational complexities proved barriers to comprehensive company-wide adoption. Consequently, there was a demand for a more adaptable, field-driven approach to utilizing data.

In response to these obstacles, Ohmatsu pursued a unified cloud data platform—Srush's AI Professional Plan—allowing for seamless integration, processing, visualization, and analysis of data through a no-code environment. Linking diverse data sources from core systems and accounting to SaaS, this initiative aims to centralize product management, automate procurement reconciliation, and reduce reliance on manual Excel tasks, thus promoting the development of a structure where anyone can perform data analysis using natural language through the Srush AI.

Striving to achieve their goal of providing joy and emotional satisfaction to their customers by crafting a rich living environment, Ohmatsu aims to solidify a data and AI-driven decision-making framework with the support of Srush, benefiting both management and on-ground teams.

Insights from Ohmatsu Corporation

Ayumu Shimomori, DX Strategy Department, Ohmatsu Corporation:
"Ohmatsu operates in the wholesale housing equipment sector, managing numerous sales and supplier relationships alongside a vast array of products. Standard reports from our sales management system often fail to adequately capture essential data needed across departments, compelling teams to perform manual data aggregation and processing daily.

I often acted as a solitary IT representative, responding to requests for data extraction from various departments. Throughout this role, I recognized two key hurdles: firstly, the insufficiency in data integration and utilization; and secondly, a concerning shift where creating reports became more of a daily task rather than actually providing insight for decision-making.

In June 2025, we established a new DX Strategy Department committed to using digital technology and data to transform our organizational culture and business models. With a new managerial team onboard, we resolved to prioritize data usage as a cornerstone of our DX efforts. Initial attempts to implement other BI tools highlighted our need for proficiency in technical expertise, which became a barrier due to the unforeseen computational burden and failed to create intuitively usable reports for employees.

That’s when we encountered Srush. Their commitment to making data accessible and familiar to everyone resonated perfectly with our vision. The intuitive UI/UX, cost-effective investment model supporting unlimited users, and the swift implementation from managing data foundations to report generation were significant attractions.

Currently, we are positioning Srush as a pivotal platform in our DX journey, focusing on the consolidation of all company data. Our goal is to foster a data-driven organizational culture that emphasizes rapid and accurate decision-making rather than mere reporting. With Srush, we aim to ensure every employee can intuitively engage with data, translating it to daily operational judgments.
