Innovative Partnership to Support Veterans
In a groundbreaking initiative,
Veterans Help Group (VHG) and the
Sixth Region Association of the United States Army (AUSA) have announced a collaboration designed to improve support for veterans by facilitating their access to disability benefits. This partnership aims to empower veterans and their families, particularly in areas comprising the Sixth Region, which includes Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, and California.
Addressing Veterans' Needs
Recognizing the numerous challenges veterans encounter when navigating the complex framework of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits, VHG brings to the collaboration its extensive experience in disability advocacy. The introduction of the
Disability Eligibility Screener, a new resource tailored specifically for AUSA members, is a key aspect of this partnership. By providing a simplified method for assessing eligibility for disability compensation due to service-connected conditions, VHG and AUSA aim to demystify the process for veterans.
Features of the Disability Eligibility Screener
The Disability Eligibility Screener is designed to be user-friendly, allowing veterans to answer a series of guided questions regarding their service and health conditions. After completing the screener, veterans will have the option to engage directly with a VA-accredited advocate, who can assist with any further questions or concerns regarding their eligibility. This not only streamlines the process for veterans but also enhances their understanding of the benefits available to them.
Joe Waring, the CEO of Veterans Help Group, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "We are proud to partner with the Sixth Region AUSA to bring access, information, and assistance to veterans and their families. It is our responsibility to raise awareness about eligibility for earned disability benefits and guide veterans on how to access accredited assistance for their specific needs."
A Commitment to Veterans
The Sixth Region AUSA is vividly committed to advocating for soldiers, veterans, and military families, seeing this partnership as a strategic continuation of its mission.
Jay Sweeney, President of the Sixth Region AUSA, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, emphasizing that the resources being provided will greatly benefit members who have sacrificed so much for the nation. "Ensuring they have access to their VA benefits is a top priority for us, and this collaboration brings essential services directly to our community," he stated.
Rollout and Impact
The rollout of the Disability Eligibility Screener commenced on
April 11, 2025, allowing Sixth Region AUSA members immediate access to this vital tool. Extensive plans are in place for outreach and education to ensure that veterans across the region are well-informed about the resources available to them.
This collaboration represents a notable advancement in veterans' advocacy, merging cutting-edge technology with community outreach and expert knowledge. VHG and the Sixth Region AUSA are committed to delivering tangible results that will empower veterans to claim the benefits they rightfully deserve.
Veterans in the region are encouraged to visit Veterans Help Group to learn more about resources tailored specifically for them.
