WisDiversity's Event to Expand Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities

Introduction


On June 4, 2025, WisDiversity LLP, a leading organization focused on expanding employment opportunities for people with disabilities, will host a workshop aimed at small businesses in Harajuku, Tokyo, starting from 14:00.

The event marks a significant gathering of small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Japan that are part of WisDiversity. This initiative encourages participants to share knowledge and strategies for increasing employment for individuals with disabilities.

Purpose of the Workshop


WisDiversity aims to raise awareness about the establishment of a unique structure called a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP), which allows SMEs to collaborate with welfare organizations. This partnership focuses on creating more job opportunities and enhancing work environments tailored for individuals facing disabilities.

The workshop is open to media professionals, business owners, and HR representatives looking to advance their knowledge and practices regarding disability employment.

About WisDiversity


Founded in April 2019 and headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, WisDiversity was established with the vision of creating a society where all individuals with disabilities are recognized as professionals. The organization is built on the principle that collaborative efforts can transform small acts of inclusion into significant roles for individuals facing disability challenges.

The LLP structure allows businesses across various sectors to participate in disability employment effectively. As of March 31, 2025, WisDiversity has the highest number of participatory businesses in Japan, boasting a membership that includes 15 companies committed to expanding employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Despite Japan’s legal disability employment rate mandated at 2.5% by 2025, a staggering number of individuals—approximately 356,000—remain unemployed. WisDiversity is at the forefront of addressing the multi-faceted challenges of employment for people living with disabilities, creating a path toward sustainable and inclusive working environments.
