On May 23, a significant promotional event for the Hainan Free Trade Port took place in Osaka, Japan. This gathering aimed to raise awareness of Hainan's strategic policies and pave the way for enhanced economic cooperation between Hainan Province and Japanese enterprises. Approximately 130 attendees from both the political and business sectors from Hainan and Japan graced the event, indicating a strong interest in collaboration.
The meeting's atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as representatives from Hainan engaged in investment attraction presentations. Lin Chunhong, Vice President of the Hainan Trade Promotion Association and Hainan International Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the attendees. He emphasized the importance of the Hainanese diaspora in Japan who have established a solid business network, serving as pivotal connectors for private exchanges between the two regions.
Lin outlined that Japanese investments in Hainan span various key sectors, including healthcare, tourism, and modern agriculture. He expressed the commitment of the Hainan Trade Promotion Association to leverage their resources in promoting trade, investing partnerships, international economic cooperation, and commercial legal services, thereby facilitating business interactions and project collaborations between enterprises from both regions.
During the event, Li Yufei, Deputy Director of the General Office of the Hainan Provincial Committee Reform and Development, presented the achievements the Hainan Free Trade Port has attained in recent years. He highlighted advancements in areas such as openness, industrial development, economic exchanges, and legal frameworks. Li voiced expectations that both Hainan and Japan could capitalize on their complementary strengths in resources, policies, technologies, and consumer markets to deepen economic and cultural exchanges further.
Jing Chunhai, an economic counselor from the Chinese Consulate in Osaka, remarked on the strengthening economic cooperation between Hainan and Japan, prompted by advancements in the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port. He provided an optimistic outlook, suggesting that opportunities resulting from the transition to new border management systems would further solidify cooperation between the two nations.
Several local and industrial parks, including Haikou, Sanya, and Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone, conducted investment promotion at the venue. The Hainan Trade Promotion Association and Hainan International Chamber of Commerce signed a cooperation memorandum with the Kansai Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Japan, confirming their commitment to promoting interactions and cooperation among their respective member enterprises.
In addition, a partnership agreement was established between Japan's Taopin International Co., Ltd., and Hainan Zhihui Ecological Industry Park Group, culminating in the agreement to establish the Hainan Global International Exhibition Center. This agreement signifies a mutual goal of attracting more enterprises and projects from various fields such as healthcare, biomedicine, elderly welfare, new materials, and artificial intelligence to Hainan.
The Hainan Trade Promotion Association also presented plaques commemorating the theme 'Shared Commerce, Joint Success' to several organizations, including the Kansai Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Nihon Hainan General Commercial Association, and other Sino-Japanese friendship associations. This gesture extends the 'circle of friends' in international economic exchanges facilitated through the Free Trade Port.
Tatsuya Mizuno, a representative of Taopin International Co., Ltd., noted that Hainan's geographical advantages offer smooth access to the Chinese mainland and significant benefits for tapping into the Southeast Asian market.
