International Journalists Explore Innovative Development in Yuhang, China
In late October, a diverse group of international journalists from South Korea, Turkey, the USA, and Cuba embarked on an insightful tour in Yuhang, a district in Hangzhou, China. Over the course of three days, from October 26 to 28, they explored various high-tech enterprises and modern agricultural demonstration parks. The visit was organized to provide these journalists with firsthand exposure to the innovative developments that Yuhang has been nurturing.
The journey commenced at Scantech, a prominent provider of comprehensive 3D solutions. Here, the journalists engaged with cutting-edge visual 3D scanning technologies. One standout moment came from Isaura Diez, a reporter for the Cuban news agency Prensa Latina, who experienced a 3D scanner for the first time. "I was genuinely impressed by the scanner and its capabilities," she remarked, emphasizing its vast potential applications in both medical and industrial contexts.
On the following day, the group visited RoboCT Technology, a national high-tech company dedicated to the development and application of exoskeleton robotics. They were introduced to the research, development, and practical applications of these groundbreaking devices. The journalists learned that exoskeletons can significantly aid patients suffering from lower limb paralysis caused by spinal cord injuries or strokes, helping them to stand and walk again. Additionally, they witnessed how brain-computer interface technology facilitates thought-controlled rehabilitation. One Turkish journalist from Aydinlik commented, "I was amazed by the lightness of the GoGo-H Pro exoskeleton; it felt like a natural extension of my own body," reflecting on the profound impact of Chinese high-tech innovations on improving lives.
At Xynova, a leader in humanoid robotic components, Dan Sandoval, a contracted photographer for the Associated Press, tested the Flex 2 humanoid hand. He was struck by its high degree of freedom, stating that it mimicked all the movements of a human hand and expressed hope that such technology would be applied in a broader array of contexts moving forward.
The contingent then proceeded to the Qianxi Eco-Agricultural Demonstration Park in Jingshan, where they discovered how digital cultivation methods and AI-based management systems are utilized throughout the rice production process. This excursion highlighted Yuhang’s role as a new urban center within Hangzhou that fosters technological and industrial integration, thereby stimulating the digital economy, advanced technology sectors, urban-rural development, and rural revitalization.
As the journalists concluded their visit, it was clear that Yuhang is at the forefront of innovation, combining traditional practices with modern technology to forge a path toward a more prosperous future. The insights gathered by these international observers not only enhance their understanding of China's advancements but also underscore the importance of cross-cultural exchange in sharing knowledge of technological progress.
Overall, the visit to Yuhang proved to be an eye-opening experience for the journalists, showcasing the district’s commitment to blending technology with industry and its contributions to global innovation. This initiative not only emphasizes Yuhang's proactive approach to modernization but also illustrates its role as a beacon of progress in the high-tech landscape.
