Founders Row and Morphus Team Up to Launch Unique Wellness Studio Concept

Founders Row Partners with Morphus to Unveil better.states

In an innovative move to redefine wellness, Founders Row, a prominent brand incubator based in Atlanta, has teamed up with Morphus, co-founded by Jon Congdon, to introduce better.states. This venture aims to create a unique space dedicated to brain health and intentional rest, serving as a refreshing escape from the digital world's incessant demands.

Located in vibrant Atlanta, better.states is described as a daydream studio, where guests can experience various pathways to relaxation in a setting designed to promote mental tranquility. The studio offers an array of activities, including guided meditation, breathwork, and even digital psychedelic journeys, all without the use of substances. The slogan, “We take your phone. You take your time.”, encapsulates its mission to encourage disconnecting from technology to foster mindfulness and relaxation.

At the core of better.states is the LayFlat portal, an innovative technology powered by Morphus’s proprietary systems. Developed in collaboration with Jamie Weeks, the founder of Founders Row, this device offers guests the opportunity to engage in 45-minute immersive journeys that combine synchronized light, sound, and vibration. Each experience aims to guide participants into deep meditation or daydream states, harnessing the brain's default mode network – the area that facilitates memory processing and creativity when one is devoid of distractions.

Visitors to better.states begin their experience by checking their phones into secure pouches, allowing them to immerse completely into the calm environment of the studio. Before their sessions, guests can enjoy a selection of nonalcoholic beverages designed to enhance mental clarity and well-being in the candlelit lounge area.

The studio’s aesthetic is orchestrated by Alexander Díaz Andersson, an acclaimed designer based in Mexico City. His studio, ATRA, is recognized for winning prestigious awards, including Design Miami’s Curio Best in Show. The design ethos of better.states is centered around creating a serene atmosphere conducive to relaxation and introspection.

Jamie Weeks, who has a reputation for scaling multiple franchise operations effectively, reminisces about the power of daydreaming in our lives. “I used to love to daydream — in school, in the backseat of the car as a kid, anywhere I could. Now, the problem is that nobody daydreams anymore — every empty minute gets filled with a scroll,” he explains. Through better.states, he emphasizes the importance of allowing the mind some downtime to reconnect with oneself without the incessant pressures imposed by modern life.

Co-founder Jon Congdon, known for his extensive background in the wellness industry with projects like Beachbody, complements Weeks's vision. He notes, “better.states directs that same conviction towards the one thing that modern life refuses to give to people — rest.” This partnership blends innovative wellness technology with a design that prioritizes user experience, making relaxation accessible and appealing.

Research supports the efficacy of daydreaming on creativity and emotional well-being. Better.states looks to capitalize on these findings, positioning itself as a leader in a burgeoning wellness movement focused on simplicity — slowing down, disconnecting, and ultimately allowing oneself to do nothing.

As Founders Row embarks on this new journey, better.states is poised to grow rapidly, with plans for multiple locations, beginning with flagship studios in New York City and South Florida. Additionally, Founders Row aims to franchise better.states, providing aspiring entrepreneurs with the opportunity to bring the concept to various markets.

This latest venture marks Founders Row's fourth in-house incubation this year, alongside other initiatives like LiftHER and Baking Social. With the goal of revolutionizing consumer wellness brands and focusing on holistic health solutions, better.states may just be the future of wellness.
