Enhancing Steel Recycling: Touko Metal's New Guillotine Shredder
Touko Metal Company, headquartered in Ota City, Tokyo, is committed to creating a sustainable and prosperous society through the circular economy. To further this ambition, the company has announced the upcoming installation of a state-of-the-art 1600t guillotine shredder at its Chiba factory, set to be operational from April 1, 2026.
A Legacy in Recycling
Since its founding in 1902, Touko Metal has established itself as a key player in the recycling sector. The company opened its Chiba factory in 2007, where it has been processing metal scrap on a large scale. The existing infrastructure has included a 1000t guillotine shredder, gas cutting equipment, and a comprehensive fragmentation and sorting line that utilizes magnetic separation to produce high-quality recycled materials.
New Technology for Enhanced Efficiency
The decision to invest in a new guillotine shredder arises from the need to replace aging machinery with more efficient technology. The newly introduced
Q91Y-1600/C20MY hydraulic scrap shear, manufactured by Jiangsu Huahong Technology Co., Ltd., is expected to significantly boost production capabilities. With an expected processing capacity of
28 to 35 tons per hour, this advanced equipment aims to streamline operations further and enhance the incoming and outgoing volumes of steel scrap.
Driving Steel Recycling Forward
With the addition of this new guillotine shredder, Touko Metal is poised to improve its processing speed and overall efficiency in recycling operations. This upgrade is aligned with the company’s long-standing commitment to sustainability and the responsible management of resources.
