Carbyne Transforms Emergency Communications for Nationwide Response by Global Medical Response

In a significant development for emergency response services across the United States, Carbyne, a prominent leader in cloud-native emergency communication solutions, has announced its collaboration with Global Medical Response (GMR), the largest air and ground EMS provider in the U.S. This partnership marks the launch of Carbyne APEX system across GMR's extensive network of communication centers nationwide. With a substantial contract value exceeding $14 million over three years, this rollout aims to enhance the speed, clarity, and coordination of emergency communications, thereby improving the efficiency of operations for countless first responders.

GMR's operations stretch across thousands of communities and involve 33,000 first responders, clinicians, and pilots, along with 8,000 ambulances serving over five million patients annually. Integrating more than 275 workstations across 26 communication centers, the deployment of the APEX system, Bridge Desk, and Carbyne Universe aims to create a unified platform that streamlines both emergency communications and field resource management.

Ted Van Horne, COO of GMR, praised the new system, emphasizing the transformed operational capabilities it offers. "Not only will these tools position Global Medical Response to extend new functionality at our Communications Centers in the future, like the ability to text or initiate video calls to 911, but they also allow us to see where our teams and resources are at any given moment,” he stated. This significant technological advancement ensures a real-time command and control system that tracks assets and resources, imperative for making swift and informed decisions during emergencies.

Having 15 locations utilizing APEX, 11 sites employing Universe, and a comprehensive connection through the Bridge Desk platform, GMR is establishing an unprecedented nationwide network that provides clarity and redundancy during urgent calls. This integrated approach allows seamless communication and coordination for emergency response teams, essential for serving the public effectively.

The Carbyne APEX system equips GMR’s telecommunicators with real-time data, including live video feeds, location tracking, text messaging, and AI-driven recommendations for rapid incident assessment. The expanded capabilities of Bridge Desk offer supervisors an integrated view of resources available, improving coordination for regional and state operations, as well as enhancing collaboration during national emergencies.

Amir Elichai, the CEO and Founder of Carbyne, emphasized the importance of this collaboration saying, "This partnership represents what's possible when operational visibility and emergency communications are fully connected. GMR is setting the standard for coordinated, technology-driven responses—ensuring that whether by ground or air, every call for help receives the fastest, most effective action possible."

This revolutionary partnership aims to eliminate the fragmented systems previously present in emergency response frameworks, providing GMR with enhanced speed, clarity, and assurance in every emergency situation. Carbyne’s solutions are already deployed across multiple jurisdictions and are trusted to manage over 250 million data points annually with a remarkable uptime of 99.999% in incoming call flows across the U.S.

Carbyne’s vision is clear – to redefine how emergencies are responded to by leveraging innovative technology that connects first responders with crucial information at lightning speed. The integration of their cloud-native platform aids not only in efficient emergency response but also in preparing communities to handle crises better. As they push for continued expansion and technological enhancement, both organizations remain dedicated to the mission of saving lives and protecting communities, reaffirming the significance of timely and coordinated responses in critical situations.
