Indulge in Seasonal Flavors at Royal Park Hotel's Special Japanese Cuisine Events

Dive into the Seasonal Delights at Royal Park Hotel

From May 1 to May 31, 2025, the Royal Park Hotel will celebrate the best of Japanese cuisine by hosting a special event called "Shinryoku Kaiseki Ibaraki no Megumi – Embracing the Bounty of Sea, Mountains, and Earth." This unique culinary experience will take place at the hotel’s Japanese restaurant, Genjiko, located on the 5th floor.

Ibaraki's Culinary Treasures

Ibaraki Prefecture, celebrated for its rich agriculture and bountiful food production, lends its finest ingredients to this exquisite kaiseki meal. Guests can expect beautifully presented dishes that showcase the freshness and flavors of these premium local ingredients.

As you begin this delightful culinary journey, you will be treated to a variety of appetizers, including freshly boiled Hitachi Shirasu (whitebait) and crisp and juicy Kasumigaura Lotus Root. The essence of Ibaraki is captured in every bite, including the flavorful clam soup made with locally sourced clams and an assortment of sashimi featuring freshwater octopus and sea bream.

What follows is the delicious highlight: a Katsu sandwich made with Hitachi no Kagayaki, a premium pork from Ibaraki known for its robust flavor and aroma. The grand finale of the meal showcases Okukuji Jitoku, a special breed of chicken raised amidst the pristine nature of northern Ibaraki, served in a rich miso sukiyaki. Its low-fat, chewy texture combined with dense flavors makes for an unforgettable experience.

In addition to the main courses, diners can enjoy the fragrance-rich and traditional Hitachi Aki soba, served with special fermented rice called waranatto - a delightful Ibaraki specialty. To finish the meal, a selection of elegant seasonal desserts will include fragrant melon varieties known as Ibaraking and sweet purple sweet potatoes known as Beniyuukan.

Enjoy the Beauty of Nature

Guests dining at Genjiko can relish these extraordinary offerings while gazing out onto the hotel’s Japanese garden, a perfect setting to truly appreciate the beauty of the season.

A Taste of Summer: Ayu and Hamo Dishes

Following the initial event, from June 1 to July 31, 2025, diners will then have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of exquisite Ayu (sweetfish) and Hamo (pike conger) dishes, celebrated flavors welcoming the summer season.

Among the Ayu offerings are grilled ayu combined with a unique seasoning known as Ayu Uruka-ae, sweetly simmered Ayu, and crispy Tender Ayu Tempura. The standout recommendation from the chef is a grilled natural Ayu bathed in its river essence, ensuring a truly organic taste experience.

The Hamo dishes feature an array of beautifully presented options, from the refined Botan Hamo no Oshiru (Hamo soup) to Hamo Nagashi and Hamo Nabe (hot pot), highlighting the delicate flavors of this prized fish. For the full experience, diners are encouraged to pair their meal with the well-crafted sake, Dassai, known for its high-quality ingredients and meticulous brewing techniques.
