SANY Heavy Truck Unveils Production-Ready Electric Trucks at IAA Transportation 2026

SANY Heavy Truck Unveils Electric Truck Portfolio

At the IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, Germany, SANY Heavy Truck, teamed with its subsidiary Putzmeister, introduced an impressive range of ready-to-manufacture electric trucks. Their theme, “Here to Stay,” signifies a robust commitment to the European market, showcasing vehicles designed with the region's logistical needs in mind.

Highlights of the Debut

The star of the SANY exhibit was the heavy-duty electric truck SE636, which boasts a powerful 636 kWh battery that enables a driving range of up to 500 kilometers. This truck, built on a 4x2 chassis, carries a weight of 10.9 metric tons and has received the EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval, marking it as the first mass-produced electric heavy truck from a Chinese manufacturer to achieve such compliance.

During the event's press briefing, Kevin Eichele, who oversees product and business development for electric trucks at SANY-Putzmeister, reiterated the company's long-term strategy in Europe. The focus is on providing commercially viable vehicles that come with European certification and operational assurance.

Hands-On Experience

SANY also set up a 2-kilometer test track at the exhibition, allowing fleet operators, logistics clients, and industry media from various markets including Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland to experience the new vehicles firsthand. Participants expressed enthusiasm over the smooth acceleration, effective energy recovery, and notably low interior noise levels—all crucial factors in heavy-duty vehicle operation.

To date, SANY has deployed over 70,000 electric heavy trucks globally. Since launching localized operations in Europe in 2022, the company has introduced its electric vehicles across 15 European markets, accumulating over 20 million kilometers of operational mileage.

Commitment to Local Support

SANY has established a comprehensive customer support system across Europe to ensure the ongoing, seamless operation of its fleets. Collaborating with local service partners, SANY offers clients access to an estimated 650 workshops for routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, alongside 24/7 roadside assistance. The company’s European service teams also provide specialized technical support, catering to complex maintenance requirements.

SANY's debut at the IAA Transportation marks a significant step in its commitment to the European market, merging production-ready technologies with proven operational experience and localized support. As the transportation industry accelerates towards electrification, SANY is poised to strengthen its presence in Europe, promoting scalable, zero-emission solutions that foster a more efficient and sustainable future for commercial vehicles.
