MIMARU Opens New Apartment Hotel in Osaka's Namba Area for Families and Groups

MIMARU Opens New Hotel in Osaka Namba

MIMARU, a leading brand in Japan's apartment hotel industry catering to families and groups, has officially opened its doors to the MIMARU Osaka Namba Station Annex on October 1, 2026. This new establishment is strategically located in the bustling Namba district of Osaka and features a total of 68 apartment-type rooms, tailored specifically for large groups.

Half of these apartments can accommodate up to six guests, while the remaining half are designed for four. Each apartment comes equipped with a kitchen, dining area, and a washer-dryer, developing a home-like atmosphere. Notably, the Sky Garden Three-Bedroom Suite, which resides on the top floor, spans a generous 100 square meters and is designed for six guests. This exquisite suite includes a private outdoor terrace with stunning city views — an ideal place for travelers to unwind away from the urban hustle.

Addressing Family Travel Challenges

MIMARU recognizes that family travel comes with its unique set of challenges, particularly when it comes to wanting to spend time together while also needing personal space. In this regard, MIMARU has designed its setups to reflect how families typically use an apartment. For instance, while one family member may rest, others can prepare for the day ahead or do laundry without feeling cramped. This concept allows group members to maintain their individual routines within the same apartment, eliminating the need to book separate hotel rooms.

The highlight of the MIMARU Osaka Namba Station Annex is undoubtedly its Sky Garden Three-Bedroom Suite. Holding up to six guests, this spacious room is fitted with six single beds, three sinks, two restrooms, a full bathroom, a separate shower stall, and an expansive private terrace. This extra outdoor space allows guests to unwind together or find a moment of solitude, providing a tranquil escape from the vibrant energy of the Namba area.

Mao Mochizuki, International Public Relations Officer at Cosmos Hotel Management, shared insights on the design philosophy behind the Namba location. "As the size of the group increases, practical considerations such as luggage management, laundry, meal prep, and shared spaces come into play. Drawing from our extensive experience of accommodating large families, we focused on how multiple people truly use their apartment throughout the day. Families require the freedom to have their own space while also coming together in a communal area. For large families, this flexibility can be essential.”
