ProFound Therapeutics Appoints Ainslie Little as Chief Operating Officer

ProFound Therapeutics has announced the appointment of Ainslie Little, Ph.D., as its new Chief Operating Officer. The company, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, specializes in utilizing the expanded human proteome to create groundbreaking medicines aimed at treating various diseases. Ainslie comes with an extensive background in corporate strategy, operations, and intellectual property, showcasing her ability to build enterprise capabilities, advance innovative platforms, and establish strategic partnerships.

Ainslie's primary responsibilities will include overseeing daily operations and spearheading the planning and execution of key initiatives as ProFound Therapeutics expands its organizational structure and translates discoveries from its unique ProFoundry™ Platform into an ever-growing therapeutic pipeline. The ProFoundry Platform is famed for its cutting-edge protein detection technologies, high-throughput experimental assays, and advanced computational methods, allowing it to systematically identify novel proteins and define their roles in health and disease.

Reflecting on this key appointment, John Lepore, M.D., CEO of ProFound Therapeutics and Flagship Pioneering CEO-Partner, stated, "As the ProFoundry Platform continues to reveal new proteins linked to various diseases, it is crucial that we build a robust operational foundation to convert these discoveries into actual medicines. Ainslie has a proven track record of scaling operations and driving strategic partnerships within early-stage platform companies, which is vital for our growth as we further industrialize our ProFoundry platform and diversify our therapeutic pipeline."

Explaining her motivation to join ProFound, Little expressed her excitement about leading the operational engine that accelerates scientific discoveries into tangible medical solutions for patients worldwide. She highlighted that ProFound is uniquely positioned to explore the extensive universe of proteins and drug targets that have, until now, remained uncharted. Her goal is to help the team realize the full promise of the expanded proteome in alignment with an expanding coalition of partners.

Ainslie comes to ProFound after serving as Chief Operating Officer at Latus Bio, where she was responsible for several aspects including strategy, intellectual property, legal matters, alliances, and operational infrastructure. Prior to that, she spent seven years at BlueRock Therapeutics, advancing to the role of Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Operations, where she played a pivotal role in scaling the company from a preclinical startup to a successful acquisition by Bayer AG. Earlier in her career, she operated as a patent agent, working with cell and gene therapy companies across North America. Little earned her Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
