Japanese Kanzai Group Welcomes Australian Student Interns
The Japanese Kanzai Group has recently accepted two interns from Edith Cowan University (ECU) in Australia, marking a significant step in fostering international collaboration and cultural exchange. This initiative not only provides valuable work experience for the students but also enriches the workplace with diverse perspectives.
The two participating students are pursuing their degrees in Computer Science and Environmental Science. They took part in a comprehensive internship program hosted by Japanese Kanzai Holdings and its subsidiary, NS Corporation. The internship, part of the Global Leaders Program, took place from December 4 to December 10, 2025 and was designed to provide a blend of practical experience and cultural immersion.
During their stay, the interns engaged in various activities aimed at enhancing their understanding of the building management industry in Japan. They had the opportunity to tour disaster prevention centers of the facilities managed by Japanese Kanzai, which highlighted the importance of safety and efficiency in property management. Additionally, the interns participated in interviews with company employees from various departments, including sales, operations, and technical teams. This experience was complemented by a hands-on experience in the human resources department, offering a well-rounded view of corporate dynamics.
At NS Corporation, the interns focused on inspecting the English version of the sustainability website created by the company. This task allowed them to apply their language skills in a professional setting, reinforcing their ability to contribute meaningfully to the organization.
Throughout their experience, the interns provided positive feedback, expressing gratitude for the support they received from the staff. One intern remarked, “I was deeply grateful for the kind support of the employees. Being involved in checking the English version of the website made me feel like I was making a real contribution. Additionally, I was impressed by Japan’s meticulous culture during the gallery tour, and I gained insight into the nuances of building management through site visits.”
The Global Leaders Program itself is facilitated through a partnership between ECU and Tokyo City University, designed to foster student exchanges and learning opportunities across cultures. This year’s program is especially significant as it marks the third consecutive year that NS Corporation has hosted interns from Edith Cowan University, highlighting the ongoing commitment to international education and collaboration.
