With over 200,000 users across more than 25 local governments, the app has reportedly demonstrated a potential reduction in social security costs by approximately ¥28,819 per user per year, as evidenced by analyses conducted in Hachiōji, Tokyo.

The growing prevalence of an aging population presents a pressing challenge for local governments, with rising healthcare and long-term care costs engaging the attention of policymakers. The undeniable need for preventative medical practices is hindered by the lack of clear quantitative evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of these initiatives—a phenomenon referred to as Evidence-Based Policy Making (EBPM). Vespla aims to bridge this gap by providing data-backed results from its health management programs.

Vespla's application is developed based on the Finger project conducted by the prestigious Karolinska Institute, focusing on dementia research. It offers a comprehensive and entirely free platform for users to manage various health activities combining exercise, brain training, and nutritional guidance. The AI algorithm customizes achievable daily goals based on an individual's age, gender, and body type, fostering long-term engagement and health behavior changes among users. This innovative approach has been adopted by municipalities nationwide, supporting action-oriented health data utilization.
