Les Mills Presents RISE: A Journey into Elite Fitness

Renowned fitness brand Les Mills has announced the worldwide release of its docuseries, RISE: Search for the Ultimate Trainers, embarking on a captivating exploration of the lives of elite fitness trainers. Set to unveil on April 13, this new YouTube series offers viewers an unprecedented glimpse into the high-stakes world of professional fitness.

Formerly faced with the challenges of selecting trainers for a coveted spot on the global filming team of Les Mills, participants in this six-episode series endure a rigorous journey that takes them well beyond the glitz of the fitness stage. Filmed over two years across global hotspots including London, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Berlin, Amsterdam, Riyadh, and Stockholm, RISE not only captures the thrills of high-level performance but also the emotional and mental demands faced by each contestant.

Unveiling the Journey of Elite Trainers

The journey culminates in New Zealand, where the final trainers will earn their place by filming workouts enjoyed by over seven million people weekly across 23,000 gyms worldwide. The docuseries captures the essence of competition, revealing the hard work behind maintaining peak fitness levels while balancing family commitments, health, and the pressures of continual travel.

Phillip Mills, CEO of Les Mills, emphasizes the focus of RISE, stating, “While fitness is the most participatory sport, very few understand the rigorous demands of sustaining peak performance.” He explains that the series portrays ambition and the drive for excellence in an ocean of aspiring trainers, showcasing what it truly takes to secure one's position at the pinnacle of the fitness world.

Bas Hollander highlights the show’s dedication by stating, “It isn’t just about the team; it’s about the commitment of individuals to what they believe in.” The emotional authenticity depicted by these trainers, comprising their struggles and the relationships forged in pursuit of greatness, forms the heart of RISE.

Kylie Gates, a senior creative on the Les Mills filming team, expresses her admiration for the trainers’ passion, noting, “Every great trainer has a desire to ignite a love for fitness in others.” The docuseries resonates with the idea that regardless of the achievements garnered, these trainers remain driven by the very purpose that first inspired them.
