Kurv's New Leadership for SMB and ISV Expansion
In a significant move to escalate its growth trajectory, Kurv, previously known as Electronic Merchant Systems, recently announced key leadership changes within its organization. The company has welcomed Nick Bencivenga as the new Vice President of Sales, while Jesse Spears has been promoted to Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. These appointments mark a strategic effort to solidify Kurv's leadership team following its transformative rebranding last November.
Afshin Yazdian, Kurv's Chairman and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the new additions to the team, stating, "We've made a lot of extraordinary changes to our organization in the past year. Nick and Jesse will play a huge role in continuing to drive our dynamic growth and expansion with our inside sales and embedded payments groups. They further bolster our strong leadership team, and I am proud to have them join the Kurv family."
Who is Nick Bencivenga?
With a rich background that includes business analytics, sales, and operational execution, Nick Bencivenga brings a wealth of experience in the payments industry to his new role at Kurv. A Virginia Tech graduate, Bencivenga most recently served as Vice President of Sales at Paysafe and was previously the Chief Operating Officer at Dharma Merchant Services. In his new position, he will be responsible for broadening Kurv's inside sales channels and accelerating the division's growth.
"Joining the Kurv team has been an incredible experience already," remarked Bencivenga. "Our solutions are proving to be game-changing for businesses across the country, providing my team with the resources to simplify the payment process and meet our merchants' changing needs."
Meet Jesse Spears
Meanwhile, Jesse Spears brings over ten years of experience in fintech, SaaS, and embedded payments to his new role as VP of Strategic Partnerships. He has garnered a reputation for his solution-oriented leadership style, particularly in helping software companies monetize payments effectively. Spears's dynamic career includes significant contributions across multiple startups and growth-stage companies, where he has successfully expanded new verticals, spearheaded go-to-market strategies, and built comprehensive sales teams. A University of Virginia alumnus, he is set to lead Kurv’s integrated payments group.
Reflecting on his time with Kurv, Spears shared, "We’ve seen exciting shifts and growth, from launching innovative technology to expanding our amazing organization. I’m excited to keep that momentum going by enhancing our embedded payments business, developing new professional relationships, and fostering a culture where both our customers and teams can thrive."
