Bremont Collaborates with Felix the Cat to Celebrate Aviation Heritage
Bremont X Felix the Cat: A Celebration of Aviation Heritage
Bremont, a distinguished watch company, has recently made waves with an exciting partnership with Universal Products & Experiences (UPE). This collaboration showcases the rich heritage of aviation intertwined with the mischievous charm of a beloved cartoon character: Felix the Cat.
The release highlights the unique blend of Bremont’s passion for innovative watchmaking and its longstanding commitment to military aviation. Felix the Cat is not just a character; he has become an enduring symbol of good fortune for pilots since the early days of aviation, representing bravery, humor, and fearless adventure.
A Historic Collaboration
Felix the Cat has been historically linked with the United States Navy squadrons, particularly the VFA-31, known as the “Tomcatters.” The character even features prominently on their insignia, demonstrating the character's deep roots in aviational history. With the phrase “Watch your Six,” referencing fighter pilots’ tactical awareness, the collaboration emphasizes the interplay between timeless aviation elements and contemporary design.
Bremont's Altitude MB Meteor serves as the ideal canvas for this collaboration. Since its inception in 2002, Bremont has consistently garnered the trust of military and civilian pilots alike, as well as adventurers and collectors who value exceptional craftsmanship and durability. The company’s MB line is specially designed to endure rigorous testing, a hallmark of Bremont’s commitment to aerospace excellence.
The Altitude MB Meteor
Launched in 2025, the newest iteration of the MB line, the Altitude MB Meteor, has been crafted with meticulous precision. This watch not only retains the features that have defined the MB series for over 16 years but also introduces modern upgrades. The Grade 2 titanium model showcases a striking 42mm design with a tactical DLC coating in a stealth black finish, offering a dramatic aesthetic.
One standout feature is Felix the Cat, whimsically depicted running away with the number six on the black dial, indicating a blend of functionality and playful charm. All applied numerals and indices are filled with high-quality white Super-LumiNova®, ensuring optimal legibility and clarity.
The bi-directional rotating inner bezel, controlled by a titanium crown, exemplifies Bremont's signature design DNA. Another iconic element is the “ejection” pull tab situated at the end of the second hand, colored vibrantly in yellow and black, a nod to the vividness of earlier iconic MB models.
Engineered for Adventure
At the heart of the Altitude MB Meteor is Bremont’s BB14-AH movement, which utilizes a La Joux-Perret caliber, equipped with 24 jewels and a power reserve of 68 hours. This watch is designed to withstand impacts, thanks to its shock-absorbing rubber suspension and soft iron shielding against magnetic fields.
The reverse side of the timepiece reveals a transparent case back decorated with a distinctive Felix the Cat motif, showcasing the exquisite finish adorned with Geneva stripes on the movement. Customers can choose to wear this exquisite watch with either a matte black DLC titanium bracelet or a textured black leather strap featuring box-stitching detail, both designed for comfort and durability.
