AAON Strengthens Leadership Team with New CFO and General Counsel

In a significant move aimed at bolstering its executive management, AAON, Inc. has announced a strategic transition in leadership. This comes as the company, a prominent player in the HVAC industry, continues to experience robust growth and seeks to enhance its governance structures.

On April 20, 2026, Andy Cheung will step into the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Bringing over 25 years of experience, Cheung is set to oversee all financial operations and investment strategies, vital for supporting AAON's expanding business operations. Before joining AAON, he held a leadership position as the Executive Vice President and CFO at the Commercial Vehicle Group Inc. for three years. With a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Chicago, Cheung expresses enthusiasm for joining AAON, particularly proud of the company's commitment to innovation and customer-focused solutions. He believes his role will be crucial in advancing the company’s disciplined growth and value creation.

Cheung replaces Rebecca Thompson, AAON's current CFO, who transitions to the position of Chief Accounting Officer. Thompson, an experienced CPA, previously held this role prior to her promotion to CFO in 2021. By returning to a position where her expertise is deeply valued, Thompson aims to enhance financial reporting and governance across the organization.

Adding to this leadership update, AAON has also appointed Luke Bomer as the company’s General Counsel, effective April 1, 2026. In this newly created position, Bomer will focus on governance, compliance, and risk management as the company continues to scale its operations. Bomer brings nearly two decades of experience in corporate law, having served as outside counsel and corporate secretary for AAON since 2015. He expressed his excitement about joining a company that he holds in high regard, appreciating its innovative spirit and commitment to quality.

President and CEO Matt Tobolski shared his excitement about the new additions, emphasizing the immense opportunities that lie ahead for the company. He believes that with Cheung's financial expertise, Bomer’s legal background, and Thompson's accounting skills, AAON's ability to execute its growth strategy with discipline will be significantly strengthened. The leadership transition aligns with the company’s long-term goals of reinforcing its governance framework and delivering sustained value to customers and shareholders.

Founded in 1988, AAON is renowned for its innovative HVAC solutions tailored for commercial and industrial indoor environments. The company prides itself on its disciplined approach to design and manufacturing, delivering efficient and high-performance HVAC products. Headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, AAON’s world-class innovation center and testing lab continuously push the boundaries of HVAC technology, ensuring that they remain at the forefront of the industry.
