NCMA Welcomes Jennifer Covington as New Vice President for Learning and Development
The National Contract Management Association (NCMA), a leading organization representing contract management professionals, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jennifer Covington as its new Vice President of Learning and Development. Her arrival underscores NCMA's dedication to enhancing professional growth and providing enriching events tailored to the contract management landscape.
In her new capacity, Covington will spearhead the creation of innovative learning programs aimed at advancing the educational offerings for NCMA's membership. With a rich background in event management and adult education spanning over two decades, she possesses the strategic vision needed to enhance the impact of NCMA's various educational initiatives and flagship events.
Brian Weiss, NCMA's Chief Operating Officer, expressed enthusiasm about Covington's appointment, stating, "As NCMA continues to expand its ability to support the careers of those in our community, Jennifer's experience and vision will be instrumental in shaping the future of NCMA's learning offerings and experiences." Prior to her role at NCMA, Covington made significant contributions to The American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB), where she was pivotal in the development of their educational programs and member engagement initiatives. Her past experiences also include serving as the Director of Events at the Risk Management Association (RMA), where she managed a variety of in-person and virtual events, including sponsorship programs. Her broad experience extends to leading global events and professional development efforts at the Project Management Institute. Notably, Covington has designed impactful learning experiences for numerous Fortune 500 companies such as Meta, Procter & Gamble, and UPS.
Educated at Eastern University in Radnor, PA, with an MBA, and having earned her BA in Hospitality Management from The Pennsylvania State University, Covington's academic credentials complement her substantial practical experience. She resides in the Philadelphia area with her husband and two children.
Covington's appointment comes during a pivotal period for NCMA, as the association gears up for several major events, including the new NCMA event Emerge scheduled for May, World Congress 2025 slated for July, and NCMA Nexus 2026 taking place in Atlanta. These prominent gatherings are designed to empower contract management and acquisition professionals from diverse sectors, fostering connection and collaboration.
