Daiki Axis Engages Students at Matsuyama University
On July 8, 2025, Daiki Axis Co., Ltd., headquartered in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, participated as a guest lecturer in the statistics course, "Fundamental Business Statistics," led by Associate Professor Masahiro Morita. The primary aim of the lecture was to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge of statistics and its practicality in real-world corporate scenarios.
Background and Purpose
The course specifically aims to equip students with analytical techniques to resolve issues faced in corporate environments. Traditional classroom teachings often rely strictly on textbooks, which can make it challenging for students to understand the relevance of statistics in the business world.
Recognizing that many students may not have frequent interactions with professionals, this collaboration was established with EIS LLC, which is also based in Matsuyama City, to provide students with an opportunity to connect with industry professionals and reflect on their career development.
Lecture Content
The agenda for the day included:
- - An overview of Daiki Axis Group's business operations and future development plans.
- - Discussion about the career paths of the presenters, including educational backgrounds and work experiences.
- - Insights into the responsibilities involved in strategic planning roles.
- - Practical applications of statistics within the industry.
- - A discussion and Q&A session featuring EIS's Nishimura.
Event Highlights
Approximately 400 students attended the lecture, with two members from Daiki Axis's corporate planning department delivering presentations. The session was interactive, incorporating real-time polling via online tools, allowing many students to engage actively. Students showed significant interest in Daiki Axis's involvement in water conservation, renewable energy initiatives, and CSR activities.
The discussion regarding career paths conducted by the two presenters, who were in their late twenties and early forties, offered students motivation as they navigate the uncertainties of job-hunting. Their emphasis on internships, corporate research, and self-analysis prompted many attendees to adopt a proactive approach toward their future endeavors.
Despite the difficulty some students face in envisioning practical implications of their coursework in management and statistics, insights from employees in strategic roles about their day-to-day tasks and the realities of statistical applications in business illuminated the potential career paths available to them.
Feedback from post-lecture surveys reflected a strong positive response, with many students expressing appreciation for the valuable insights shared and a newfound enthusiasm towards further studies in areas like bookkeeping, statistics, and languages.
