AMPERA Opens Its Global Headquarters in Florida

On April 10, 2026, AMPERA proudly celebrated the official opening of its global headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The event attracted over 150 local leaders, elected officials, and employees, showcasing the company’s commitment to clean energy solutions. AMPERA specializes in developing advanced nuclear reactors that utilize thorium, ensuring energy efficiency without the need for fuel replenishment throughout their operational lifespan.

Brian Matthews, the founder and CEO of AMPERA, addressed the audience, emphasizing the company’s mission amid growing Artificial Intelligence (AI) demands and ongoing energy supply challenges. Matthews stated, "We are developing a reliable, safe, and cost-effective solution that can significantly transform the energy landscape. Our approach prioritizes a swift market introduction for our consumers, driven by an ambitious and solutions-focused development schedule."

The company is focused on attaining approval from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for its subcritical thorium-powered reactors and has formed a strategic partnership with Scorpio Tankers to bolster its initiatives. AMPERA's headquarters is located in the Gardens Innovation Center within the PGA National Commerce Park. The facilities spread across two buildings, collectively expected to cover nearly 100,000 square feet, featuring research, development, engineering, proprietary additive manufacturing, assembly operations, as well as administrative and back-office functions.

The occasion for the grand opening was organized in collaboration with the PGA Corridor Association, the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, and the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County. Kelly Smallridge, president and CEO of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, expressed enthusiasm about AMPERA's relocation:

"We are thrilled to welcome AMPERA to Palm Beach Gardens. This is precisely the type of innovative company with a substantial impact that shapes the future of our region. AMPERA's leadership in advanced energy and technology not only creates attractive career opportunities but also cements Palm Beach County’s position as a leading hub for innovation and next-generation sectors."

According to Noel Martinez, the president and CEO of the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, the establishment of companies like AMPERA in Northern Palm Beach County aligns with their vision to position the area as Florida's Prosperity Coast. He noted the significant economic benefits that high-tech and well-paying jobs would bring, positively affecting the entire community.

With ambitions of employing 2,500 individuals within five years, AMPERA is actively recruiting new talent to fuel its growth and innovation efforts. The company’s cutting-edge approach is indicative of the future of clean energy, particularly with its groundbreaking subcritical microreactor systems tailored for the AI era. These systems promise energy density without the inconvenience of fuel replacement, representing a transformative step in the energy sector.
