JA Zennoh Supports Japan's Curling Team
The 2026 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship is set to begin on April 25 in Geneva, Switzerland. This year, JA Zennoh is proudly backing the Japanese national curling team with an assortment of traditional Japanese food items, ensuring that our athletes can perform comfortably and effectively even far from home.
Providing Japanese Cuisine
To maintain the athletes' performance, JA Zennoh has taken into consideration the preferences of the team and is providing a selection of foods made available through the JA Town online marketplace. This includes rice, freeze-dried miso soup, flavorful accompaniments, and dried fruits under the “Nihon Ale” brand.
The Japanese mixed doubles team, consisting of Momoko Koana and Go Aoki, recently achieved a historic victory, winning their first championship at the 19th Japan Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. They are now gearing up to compete for gold at the upcoming world event, fueled by the power of “Nihon no Shoku” (Japanese food).
Player Comments
After receiving the food supplies, player Momoko Koana remarked, “Thanks to JA Zennoh for their unwavering support! I will fight with the power of Japanese food!” Meanwhile, Go Aoki stated, “Being able to eat Japanese flavors while overseas helps with performance during my matches! Rice fuels my energy, and tea helps me stay calm.”
Support for Athletes
Since 2019, JA Zennoh has utilized its overseas network to provide vital food support for Japanese national teams facing the challenges of unfamiliar diets, environments, and hygiene during international competitions. The organization has previously assisted teams in curling, table tennis, and other sports, and remains dedicated to supporting curling through the promotion of “Nihon no Shoku.”
Championship Overview
As the championship approaches, the Japanese curling team looks to make the nation proud, carrying the strength of Japanese cuisine with them every step of the way.
