PTV Vissim Enhances Traffic Simulation with Model2Go Collaboration

PTV Vissim Introduces Model2Go for Enhanced Traffic Simulations

On August 26, 2025, at the ITS World Congress held in Atlanta, USA, the PTV Group, an international brand under Umovity, announced a significant innovation: PTV Model2Go for PTV Vissim. This new service provides automatically generated, immediately usable network models, transforming leading traffic simulation software. Partnering with Dynamic Map Platform Inc. (DMP), a top map data provider in Japan, this collaboration is set to accelerate traffic projects and virtual test driving across the automotive industry.

Accurate digital representations of road networks are essential for any traffic simulation. Manually creating these high-precision networks can be a time-consuming process. With DMP's advanced 3D map data, PTV Model2Go automates this workflow, drastically reducing the workload for projects.

Shuichi Yoshimura, CEO of DMP, stated, "Since signing the MOU with PTV in January, we have worked closely to leverage our high-precision 3D data for traffic simulation. We are thrilled to announce PTV as our distributor. We expect our extensive 3D dataset, covering approximately 1.8 million kilometers globally, to be utilized in traffic simulations worldwide, improving efficiencies and contributing to smart city planning and next-generation vehicle development."

Christian U. Haas, CEO of Umovity, remarked, "PTV Vissim is a world-leading traffic simulation software that globally enables data-driven mobility planning. By integrating DMP’s high-precision 3D data, we have made it easier than ever to utilize this powerful tool. This breakthrough unlocks new possibilities for both the automotive industry and traffic engineering."

The networks generated from high-precision 3D data are available in INPX and OpenDRIVE formats, ready for simulation and covering major international markets, including the United States, Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Japan, and South Korea.

  • - INPX: The native file format for describing traffic networks in PTV Vissim.
  • - OpenDRIVE: An international standard for road networks established for the development and verification of autonomous driving.
