Alfresa and Chō Rakuchō Initiate Vaccine Info Sharing for Over 50s

Alfresa and Chō Rakuchō Collaborate to Share Vaccine Information

In a significant step towards enhancing public health information for older adults, Alfresa Corporation and Chō Rakuchō Co., Ltd. have partnered to launch a new matching service called 'Hahalu.' This initiative targets individuals aged 50 years and older, focusing on disseminating vital information related to vaccination. The two companies aim to combat social isolation and promote preventive healthcare within this age group.

Background of the Collaboration

The partnership between Alfresa and Chō Rakuchō was officially established in February 2026 to extend healthy lifespans and promote preventive medical care for those aged 50 and above. This recent initiative represents the first campaign stemming from this collaboration. With increasing awareness of the importance of vaccinations and health check-ups in later life, the need for effective communication channels has never been greater. A recent survey conducted among Hahalu users revealed that nearly half (48.5%) reported they rarely or never receive information regarding vaccinations or appointments.

Addressing Challenges in Vaccine Information Access

One of the primary challenges highlighted by respondents was the lack of exposure to such crucial health information. To tackle this issue, Alfresa has utilized its vaccination booking site, 'Vaccine Platt,' to deliver relevant updates directly to Hahalu users via email. In doing so, they have successfully provided thousands of users aged 50 and over with essential insights about the vaccination process.

Moreover, an impressive 77% of engaged users accessed the vaccine booking platform during this campaign, primarily comprising individuals aged between 55 and 69. A follow-up survey indicated that 51.0% of participants found the health information provided by Hahalu to be beneficial or very beneficial. This feedback signifies that accessing health information through regularly used services like Hahalu can foster positive user engagement and improve health outcomes among older adults.

Hahalu as a New Communication Channel

Hahalu stands out as a modern matching service tailored for older adults, who frequently use smartphones and prefer gathering information and making appointments online. By leveraging this existing infrastructure, Hahalu enables users to reflect on their health and consider preventive measures. The service features an AI advisor that assists users in finding compatible partners based on a range of criteria, including values, hobbies, and lifestyle choices.

The latest efforts successfully bridged the gap between vaccination information and the target demographic, showcasing Hahalu's potential as an effective health information dissemination tool. Additionally, users who signed up within the last six months were noted to have an access rate to 'Vaccine Platt' that was 2.6 times higher than long-term members, highlighting the engagement of newer users.

Future Prospects

Chō Rakuchō is committed to continuing its partnership efforts, using its platform to connect with older users and deliver necessary health information. This initiative not only aims to extend the lifespan of older adults but also emphasizes the importance of preventive healthcare measures to improve their quality of life.
