Revolutionizing Japanese Sports: The Power of Contact Sensation

A New Challenge in Sports: Strengthening through Contact Sensation

On April 1, we celebrate dreams through March's April Dream initiative, supporting the vision of Tsumeplus. Our goal is to empower Japanese sports through an innovative perspective focused on "contact sensation."

Unveiling the Overlooked Realm of Contact

Historically, the focus on athletic performance has revolved around aspects like strength, technique, and form. However, we shine a light on an often-ignored element: the moments of contact between the body and external forces—these contact points define every sporting action.

Whether it's pushing off the ground, handling a ball, or interacting with an opponent, all sports actions occur through these contact points. Yet, many athletes may not fully perceive or assess what transpired at these critical junctures.

Defining Contact Sensation

Our concept of contact sensation recognizes the high-resolution sensory functions present at the extremities, such as nails, skin, and fingertips. By changing how we perceive these sensations, we can significantly enhance the quality of movement, ultimately leading to improved performance.

Managing Before Strengthening

We advocate for a paradigm shift in preparing athletes. Through our facility, the CONTACT PERFORMANCE LAB, we focus on refining contact sensation and enabling athletes to evaluate and manage their own bodies. The difference in athletic performance often lies not in raw talent or effort, but in how well an athlete's hands and feet—essential tools of their trade—are utilized and managed.

CONTACT PERFORMANCE LAB is dedicated to evaluating, visualizing, refining, and continuously managing the hands and feet employed in competition. We envision the grand opening of the CONTACT PERFORMANCE LAB at the National Stadium on April 1, 2026.

Detecting Imbalances Before Pain

Our focus isn't just on alleviating pain; we engage with the subtle deviations in how limbs are used before discomfort arises. By comprehensively monitoring areas such as nails, palms, toes, and soles, we can interpret signs of declining performance. This proactive approach ensures athletes maintain peak conditions in their hands and feet.

From Awareness to Replication

Unique to CONTACT PERFORMANCE LAB is not merely the care or treatment offered. We don’t limit our scope to massage, therapy, or training guidance. Instead, we provide athletes with insights into contact states they might not have noticed before, allowing them to documented and manage these states. Our mission is to aid athletes in consistently achieving their optimal condition through effective maintenance.

We believe that as the concept of contact sensation spreads, it will usher in new growth opportunities for Japanese sports.

The Power of Sensation in Athletic Performance

The disparity in athletic ability is not solely determined by physical capabilities; the quality of one’s sensory perception can create significant differences. Although our journey is still ongoing, we aspire for contact sensation to become a universal language in sports, enabling Japanese athletes to compete at higher levels globally.

At CONTACT PERFORMANCE LAB, we regard athletes' hands and feet not as expendable tools but as vital assets to their sport, supporting a cultural shift in sports that originates from the very means with which they compete.

A New Sports Culture Emerging from the National Stadium

Located in the heart of Japan's sporting hub at the National Stadium and Jingu Gaien area, we aim to disseminate this fresh perspective on managing limbs through hands-on experiences, reaching athletes, coaches, schools, and society at large.
