From January 6, 2026, Yoko Okamoto's photography exhibition, 'New Plant Views,' will take place at Nikon Plaza in Tokyo and Osaka. Hosted in THE GALLERY, this selection exhibition aims to celebrate the beauty and diversity of plants – not only flowers but also grasses and trees – that coexist with us in our daily lives.

Yoko Okamoto shares her sentiments on the closeness to nature in her artistic journey:
“Plants, including flowers and grasses, are not just special subjects; they possess a rich variety in their colors, shapes, textures, and forms.”

Growing up in the Musashino prairie, Yoko immersed herself in nature, discovering the joys of playing with flowers. For her, plants have always been an integral part of life.

This exhibition will highlight how certain plants reveal fascinating changes during their growth processes and throughout different seasons. Okamoto emphasizes the intriguing transformations that plants undergo and how they can surprise with their unique shapes and textures.
“There are moments when plants reveal their ephemeral brilliance; the work of capturing these fleeting instances through my lens becomes an enjoyable process.”

Through her keen observation and framing, Yoko invites audiences to see the plants from a new perspective, revealing their unique personalities and beauty.

Yoko Okamoto, graduated from the Department of Biology at Toho University and ventured into photography after working for twelve years in a company. She studied under the late Shōtarō Akiyama and became an independent photographer focusing on flowers, plants, and landscapes. Yoko organizes the
