Tokyo Debuts Akafuku's Summer Exclusive Sweet Treat: Akafuku Mizu Yokan

Akafuku's Summer Delight: Mizu Yokan Arrives in Tokyo

This summer, Akafuku, a renowned Japanese confectionery company based in Ise, is bringing a special treat to Tokyo's dessert lovers. The summer-exclusive "Akafuku Mizu Yokan" will be available at the Keio Department Store Shinjuku from July 10 to 23, as part of the "Keio Sweets Expo." This marks the first time that this refreshing treat has been offered in a Tokyo department store.

Mizu Yokan: A Taste of Summer

Akafuku's Mizu Yokan is characterized by its light texture and refined sweetness. Available frozen, it can be enjoyed at your leisure in the comfort of your home. The visually striking, translucent appearance and smooth texture evoke a sense of summer's coolness, making it an ideal gift or souvenir.

In addition to Mizu Yokan, Akafuku will also be offering the "Azuki Butter Sandwich," a luxurious sweet made with Hokkaido azuki beans and domestic butter, sandwiched between a cookie made from wheat flour sourced from Mie prefecture. This special treat, subtly infused with rum, is designed for adult palates and brings out the rich flavors of azuki beans in two unique confections.

The Okaidate Yokochou Kakigori Experience

From now until July 16, guests can experience three unique varieties of kakigori (shaved ice) from Ise's "Okaidate Yokochou" exclusively at the Akafuku booth. One standout item is the "Yokochou Mitarashi Dango Kakigori," making its nationwide debut. This newly created dessert combines the essence of traditional Japanese sweets into a refreshing icy delight.

Visitors can also try the perfectly balanced "Kishu Kinari Ripe Amanatsu Kakigori" and "Ise Nakamura Coffee Kakigori," both of which are being offered nationwide for the first time outside of Okaidate Yokochou. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy these seasonal flavors served right in the heart of Kanto.
